  • My brother and I are rebuilding it this summer. The pool at my moms house is also being re-plastered so we’re going to drill and epoxy new bolts in the deck and sand and fiberglass the old wood, which hopefully isn’t too rotten.

Gotta get my 7 y/o diving off it this summer.

Looks exactly like this model but with on thicker spring instead of the 2. My 6’3 230lb dad could just about bottom it out.

  • We were riding off skate ramps at the time though. If I lived in a place with separate bike lanes I might consider going helmet-less. But I’ve also been hit by a car and likely saved a lot of brain damage by having a helmet on. Same with skiing (helmets and accidents, not hit by a car!).

  • Yup I didn’t get back to a healthy weight until after my kid was born at 40. Really till he started running around so closer to 42-43.

Then I got Covid just before the vaccine was available for our ages and have been underweight since. Just finally started gaining back decent muscle this winter but still having trouble keeping weight on (I’m 6’3 and 170-175lbs (~190cm ~78kg)).

Was around 200lbs (90kg) while my wife was pregnant.

  • I agree with the premise, but in the airplane news case; It’s a big deal at the FAA when planes even get close to each other. When they touch an even more stringent investigation will (at least used to) take place.

It’s news that there was a collision because it’s a big fuckup even on the ground and taxiing.

  • And they literally grabbed at least one student off the street and took them straight to detention with no due process. There’s no one stopping them from taking them to El Salvador from there either.

And the US prisons don’t sound any better really. Mylar blankets and 24 lights is a form of torture.

  • 2 of the 14 kids in my sons class go by different names and have since kindergarten. They aren’t trans gender, they just use different names from the ones on the registration forms and birth certificates.

His is it any different. Also goddamn nicknames should be outlawed. That state is so fucked it’s not even funny anymore.

  • Bike helmets didn’t get common until 6th grade or so. Same with face guards and mouth guards in anything but football.

We also had a diving board with a full size car spring. A gymnast pal could do double flips off it.

  • It was a geothermal extraction method that made energy and recovered lithium without nasty mining.

It’s possible that the geothermal angle was green washing, but from what I saw (on PBS’s Nova I believe) it would have been an environmental improvement over what is there now.

Funny thing is Maine also just discovered lithium deposits, and the Trump assholes are picking on them for allowing the 2 transgender athletes in the whole state to play school sports.

  • Looked like it was already pear shaped, and more cock and ball shaped for the more vulnerable population.

I have a van too, ostensibly for camping, but “just in case” feels more and more possible in my a single income family (just 1 child though thankfully).
