Right now it’s in place to protect Geosynchronous Orbit satellites and allow communication it means there are shadow zones around the ground stations where the LEO satellites have to be quiet.

If they can get smarter about it then it’s ok, but it was set a a rule by space engineers, many of whom are actual rocket scientists, and would need careful consideration before changing. Something fElon hasn’t proven capable of.

I agree, and everyone basically want Apple/Android CarPlay units anyway. The hard part will be getting a wiring harness installed, unless there is some space provided in the dash (putting speakers or anything else in a door is really annoying for the experienced, and too tall an order for the beginner.

I’m one of those. I took drafting 1 in high school including vellum blueprints and later autocad. But I was more interested in design and ended up in the art department.

Photoshop 3 had just come out annd introduced layers, we had 2 Macs in the back of the classroom, but in school we still had a phototypesetter, knives, airbrushes, and rubber cement.

Steven Miller is part of this too. He’s a fucking hateful racist and most likely responsible for much of this.

But really it’s the whole Republican administration and congress who are responsible. Don’t let them forget.

People used to learn those skills by apprenticing, and also art and design schools. Some of the people that did this work had amazing hand skills, even when they were about to retire, when I was just entering that field.

Never seen it but I suppose life could imitate art.
