  • Honestly I was probably exaggerating a little.

But I was going to talk about stuff like the heavy integration of Internet Explorer into those versions of Windows and the bundling of apps like Outlook Express and Windows Messenger. They were accused by the US government of illegally maintaining a monopoly on PC software through this, and some software that is bundled in most countries still isn't in the European Union or South Korea.

Still, I do think MS wanted to cause vendor lock in which is a similar issue to why an "everything app" gaining popularity would be an issue.

  • All would actually suck if these are the realistic versions, but Cowboy would suck the least, at least as a violence-averse person (if you're not violence-averse I understand why you'd pick Samurai.)

Movie versions, I'd still go Cowboy. I'd get stir crazy on a boat and I don't like answering to people like Samurai need to.

  • Honestly at least a lot of Apple products from 1998 ~ 2017 were actually stylish. Now Apple products just look boring and yet they're still treated as fashion accessories. Like, I could actually see how an iPod Classic or an iMac G4 was a fashion accessory. iPhone 14 or the M1 iMac, no.

Also RGB looks garish and I wish it weren't the predominant look of PC customization, but also it's admittedly one of the only forms that's accessible.

  • I do think there's a good amount of characters who you don't think of as "superheroes" but really are...but I don't think Skywalker is one of them. His skills aren't rare, he's just one of the best, and his motivations are more that of a freedom fighter/terrorist (the difference is perspective) than a peacekeeper (I actually would argue that a superhero could be a freedom fighter, but most are peacekeepers.)

  • With Reddit, profit or at least trying to make it look good for the IPO explain it.

The Elon Site, I just think his ego and unrealistic dream of an "everything app" guides it, unless he's tanking Twitter for money laundering.

  • I'd think:

    1. Gaming PC (PC games plus emulation of most systems, including Android and arcades)

2, 3, and 4. Some combination of three systems with large exclusive libraries for which emulation isn't quite there yet or have unique features that make emulation suboptimal (Sega Saturn, Original Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii U, PS3, and PS5 come to mind)

  • Here's a strange one I don't necessarily disagree with (but I'm not sure I agree either:)

"Jazz is an American form of classical music"

According to someone that was in a music history textbook (don't remember the country but it was in Europe.)

  • I definitely do get the feeling Liberal/Left Americans (inb4 "liberals arent leftists!!!," true but the particular issues I'm referencing are things liberals and leftists mostly agree on) and Conservative Americans have different, incompatible, moral systems where a compromise can't be reached.

I think it's possible but not probable. It's not like we're already seeing widespread squabbles or serious secession talk (ultimately I don't think the war would be fought on state lines but I do think secession talk would start happening before war breaks out.) Then again something like Trump getting put behind bars could change everything.
