  • I'm tired of Lemmy users acting like they, on average, aren't the people that people make fun of when they make fun of Redditors. Y'all are literally the stereotypical Redditor of ten years ago, which is about the time people first started hating on Redditors.

  • Political ideology: depends greatly on how big a role the internet played in raising Bernie Sanders' profile. I think it did a lot, so I'd probably be less left but still too left to vote Republican.

Religion: Without Internet I'm probably a nominal Christian like my mom. As in, identifies as Christian but it doesn't affect my life like, at all.

Overall worldview: It's probably in the same ballpark, but not as developed. I don't think I've ever done a total 180 on my values, but the application of those values has changed a lot.

  • It's maybe not that hot a take to lifelong nerds who grew up with the Apple II and are disconnected from how kids use computers in schools in the 21st century.

"School computers should be more durable and run Linux" isn't that hot a take. FreeDOS???? WTF?

Not to mention that he basically called everyone who disagrees with him stupid.

  • The 32X was one of the things that killed Sega. Making add-ons or expansions for existing consoles has proven to be a failed business model.

Stating this unilaterally overlooks the PC Engine CD, which has more games than the base PC Engine.

  • Atari Lynx. Remarkably powerful handheld for coming out two months after the Game Boy, but no truly memorable games that aren't ports (which could be said about all of Atari's non-2600 consoles tbf.)
