  • Really the US government just needs to stop treating Israel as an ally entirely, it's really fucking interesting that Israeli money benefits largely the same politicians that Russian money does, Russia being a state whose long term geopolitical goal is to force USA, Canada, and UK into isolationism.

  • I've honestly just come to the conclusion that being an asshole about the fact that other countries exist is just the continental past time of Europe.

Like, Americans get the most of it but they're like this toward people from other European countries too.

  • If the game has a good enough character creator I'll play a male. But most games and especially most Western games with character creators don't allow me to make a male character I'd actually want to look like or at.

  • Most Americans do not live nearly as well as it is portrayed on TV or in movies.

I think American TV in the last ten years has started to portray people as richer than it did in the 90s and 00s even. Is there anything like Everybody Hates Chris or My Name is Earl on? Shit, even Malcolm in the Middle they were clearly middle class but I feel like most American TV now is about upper middle class people or Hollywood. (I've heard of Abbot Elementary but haven't watched it.)

  • Not true. So much of the US, including many cities is uninhabitable or at least extremely inconvenient without a car due to a lack of planning that supports a car free lifestyle.

Also, while the majority of Americans live in urban areas, the rural population is not so small as to be insignificant.

The long term solution is to improve infrastructure and zoning laws to reduce the car centrism of the majority of the USA, this is already being done in many cities, but for the time being most Americans need a car.

  • That's how the EU operates. And frankly, if "the US" means "Americans" and not "the government and the rich" that's good policy if you ask me.

We wouldn't see so much tech regulation in the EU if the EU had anywhere near the amount of tech giants as the USA.

  • This was maybe true 7 years ago or so. But I can't name a single meme that has come out of 4chan since Soyjaks went out of fashion (and I honestly think Soyjaks directly killed 4chan's relevance to wider internet culture.)

  • Papa John's is the least bad chain pizza IMO. I find myself getting them for sheer topping selection despite living near better places.

Pizza Hut is the real worst. Well, without factoring in cost, Little Caesar's is the worst, but LC is some of the cheapest preheated food at least in the US and bad pizza is still good pizza, so they get a pass that Pizza Hut doesn't.
