How much maintenance does a simple SMS app need? What random apps are system apps? Beomite is not installed, not even sure qksms is, but I always use it. Never had a single issue removing any apps. Seems like you're just very uninformed

I don't think anyone is thinking of the broader implications of this, they rather downvote opposing opinions. If UBI starts, where's the money come from? Higher taxes, in turn higher product cost, which just completes the cycle, making ubi not enough to live on, making an increase needed. They already tried this with minimum wage, it's still what $7? Full time work won't even pay for your apartment, let alone 80 hour weeks

What incentive is there at all to work with UBI? Why would anyone try hard at anything if you're not rewarded?

I really don't get it. I use wefwef and don't see any nsfw, like at all. You just simply uncheck it on your home instance. And just learned today wefwef also has a nsfw toggle which was off for me

I think the appeal was supposed to be all drivers are open source. where as even with custom roms, you still have proprietary firmware blobs that must be updated by the manufacturer to prevent any exploits

So essentially it's highly censored to defederate them. Not only you can't view them using a different instance and post, but registering there, you can only interact with their instance. Lemmy needs a better method. I was thinking about this the other day, why is something as simple as blocking content on the users end or blocking x type of content not an option, even on registration. Even if there's hate speech mixed in, freedom of speech should exist, but freedom to not hear it, should also exist. Essentially shadow banning, but done by choice of those who don't want to hear said content.

Racism, bigotry, and sexism, exist in everyone. Maybe there's just better ways to express it, or not to. But it's cultural, people want to be with their culture, their people. When you force people to 'accept' everyone, they lose their Identity.

I really don't think Lemmy will survive as everyone will be afraid of getting cancelled and defederated.
