He didn't say we should just say gas them to death (like they'd do to some of us in a heartbeat), he just pointed out they deserve no right to be aggressive against minorities.
I see no issue there. If they want to be decent citizens there's an easy solution to that; stop being a nazi.
Edit: I otherwise agree with your comment, as they probably need some deprogramming to actually achieve said solution.
I agree there too. Finding the fine line between staying informed and going nuts from all the negative stuff has forced me to step back at times, just for the sake of staying sane.
I agree, it had its ups and downs, but on the whole it made me contemplate on things from many perspectives, and I think (and hope) that that was ultimately the goal of the creators as well. It certainly seemed to be.
Very few things I've watched have given me the same ..vibe, so to speak. I have been to India and that episode felt very .. authentic, for a lack of a better word.
In my opinion it's a bit sad it didn't get all that much recognition, but it also wasn't the easiest series to watch at times.
Have fun with all that anger, it'll really serve you to get absolutely nowhere when you're older. See how long you can keep it up.
Try reading some of the other stuff Faye wrote, you two would probably even agree on some things. Try that Google thing you seem to like so much.
As for the rest, if you haven't figured out you're spouting basics but nobody is listening anymore I can't really help you. You're 30 years too late in my case, anyway. Now please stop.
My arguments were not about the politics per se, but rather the behaviour of human beings following said politics. If there were any chance for a leftish utopia as you describe it I'd be all for that. In my youth that was something I even dared to hope for.
Alas, we haven't seen anything but people taking the worst aspects of either side and using demagoguery and violence to prop themselves up so far, have we? It's not a horseshoe, it's a full circle, and in any case I've personally never heard anyone critique Faye's writings. In fact, they seem to enjoy a pretty good reputation amongst the left in general.
The problem is the same as it has always been; some people just want more, and they're willing to walk over their fellow man to get it. Until that changes, nothing else will, either.
You seem eager to lecture others, but let me ask you this: do you really think politics matter in a trench when you're getting shot at, or when your children are starving to death? When there's no clean water or electricity? Seems somewhat naive to me, those ideals of yours. The world isn't that black or white.
Microsoft still supports AoE2, and that game is going on 22+ years. Some of the other stuff they've released has been a bit hit and miss, but they at least tried to do something fresh.
I'll take that over ActiBlizz dropping support for the SC2 pro scene for no good reason other than "profitability" any day.
Hell, maybe they can fix WoW classic while they're at it, and say what you will about the guy but if I understand correctly even Chris Metzen is coming back.
You're absolutely correct. My statement concerned only the wannabe keyboard warriors, not the dumb fucks murdering innocent people or all the horrors that happen in Russia/China/NK/etc, nor the influence they seem wield with impunity in large parts of the world.
Those people exists, sure, but if someone has gone that far left there's really no practical differences between them and the far right anymore.
Assholes will be assholes - left or right hardly even factors into it at that point. They're all just spiteful haters playing tough on the internet either way.
The servers were essentially 95-99% of either faction, and they locked migration several times seemingly on random. A lot of people got stuck on servers that were nigh unplayable because of the other faction dominating everything.
It even included paid server transfers on some servers for some weird reason. I got hardlocked on 98% alliance server while playing a tauren resto druid. Their customer service told me to "level another character on a server of my choosing". Leveled to 80 out of sheer spite and then quit when my game time ran out.
Truly one of the biggest disappointments in my entire life. I know it's just a game, but I had looked forward to getting to redo wrath since they first announced classic in general, and they completely ruined it.
Microsoft still support AoE2 after all these years, while Activision more or less fucked the SC2 proscene so hard it's amazing it's still going as strong as it is.
Not to mention what they did to the classic WotLK launch. It couldn't get any worse than that.
You say that, and there's no denying there are border related problems, but if you think the solution lies within the party that supports someone who thinks a mote filled with hungry alligators is a viable one you might want to rethink a thing or two.
They completely botched the WotLK server situation launch as well.
I waited for that shit for years, and me and many others couldn't play no matter how much money we were willing to spend to do so. I don't know if they ever fixed the servers, but back in December they were still a hot mess.
Also, to a lesser degree, SC2.
They certainly lost a loyal customer in me, at least.
