  • Must be regional. Definitely not a thing in the southeast.

  • It was recorded as the hottest Christmas eve in over a quarter of a century. Just because the part of the UK you're in isn't as abnormally warm as other parts doesn't mean that the UK didn't record the highest temperature in 26 years for that day of the year.

  • (The poms and their "happy Christmas" are weird though. Just sounds wrong.)

As a Brit I've never heard happy Christmas. It's always merry Christmas. Then it's happy new year.

  • He's a Tory. I very much doubt he feels bad about the joke, more likely just feels bad that he got caught. Last month in parliament if you believe his accuser he called a constituency a shit hole and if you believe his defence he called a fellow MP a shit hole.

  • 'Insufficient funds' at a cash machine is the equivalent of getting the card declined message when paying directly on your card. The joke is word play using the slight ambiguity of the insufficient funds message. In the joke the user believes that the machine itself physically doesn't have enough bank notes, rather than it being their account that doesn't have enough money.

  • It can be a more general term for sex offender. But yeah, primarily it's a pedo.

  • Yeah sadly so. It's still the only long shot I can see. Unless labour actually manages to remember that the current system only seems to let them in once every twenty odd years.

  • The only way I can see it is with lib dems as a coalition partner. For a time a while ago it looked like that might be possible. But then the Tories kept shitting the bed the the point it looks like a labour landslide is incoming.

  • You got something to back that up? The last study I read (I think it was from Volvo comparing one of their EVs against the ICE version of the car) showed between 60 and 80 thousand miles (depending on the energy generation mix) was the tipping point where EVs became better.

And that was probably about 5 years ago, there's been a lot of significant development in EVs since then.

  • Under GDPR you have a right for your application to be reviewed by a human rather than an automated rejection. Is there something like that in the country maybe?

  • They've been available on the nightly release for ages. But it's a bit of a pain to install them.

  • So, he paid for a period. Then the product was discontinued and they stopped charging him. So from then on, no he wasn't paying. Google didn't have to change it to read only, they could have just given notice and deleted it then.

Should they have made it clearer that the read only mode was a limited time thing and the data would be deleted at the end of that? Very probably.

  • Squadie, some kind of filter, painting.

  • The third season is pretty good. Second started out well but then didn't know where they wanted it to go. I'd definitely say PIC overall is the second weakest of new trek after DIS.

  • I understand they are two separate judges, but the law should be the same for all, not at the interpretation of whichever judge you get.

That's literally a big chunk of law. So there must be something other than it just being the judge's interpretation.
