  • For YouTube I think the only options are revanced/ revanced extended or Firefox Nightly with a whole bunch of extensions.

  • True. But the for the last part, but the argument for RCS is the same. But more so. You'd know you could just message them using it and you wouldn't need to know if they were using WhatsApp discord. No matter what their phone would have RCS, or would fall back to SMS.

  • To transfer 1tb of data from London to Edinburgh at 100mbit/s it would take around 22 hours.

To put a 1tb SSD in a rucksack and get the train to Edinburgh drop it off and come back would take about 9 hours.

  • Boox run android, so that might fit your title.

From your post content though it actually sounds like you'd be happy with a Kobo. You can easily transfer books and you can install third party open source reading software too.

  • RCS done properly would be nice. I'd very much like to not be sending my messages through meta. Google's implementation, however, just trades one American giant for another.

  • Yeah. I don't really think it's better either. I just think it'll fall flat on its face like Google's many many previous attempts at messaging unless they actually tell people it exists.

  • TdIL Shrek was based on a book.

  • That's nice. But without some serious marketing they won't get people off of WhatsApp in Europe.

  • My car stopped accelerating. Why am I still going so fast?

  • It applies to fridges and freezers too. As long as the gasses are disposed of properly it's fine though.

  • F R E E Z E P O P freezepop forever

  • Exactly. And the exaggeration is the same for the American part, I'm sure that even an American would take a whole half day off for kidney surgery.

  • I usually just take a week over summer then the other 6 weeks at other times of the year. Hotels, fights and stuff pretty much double their prices over the summer.

  • Bargain. It's not that long ago it would have set you back best part of $200

  • Oh I'm definitely going to give it a try once it hits fdroid so it's easy to update. I'm not somehow thinking that Sync is inherently better than Foss apps. But it was always going to feel more mature. It's a conversion of an app that's been in development for 11 years, rather than a brand new app.

  • The Sync for Reddit Dev has released an app for lemmy. People are salty because it's way better than any of the foss apps that are currently out.
