I’ve seen way worse that doesn’t even result in a comment removal, let alone a whole subreddit getting banned.

Gaza was either not big enough to affect the result, or big enough where your candidate should have acknowledged it. You can’t have it both ways.
Not to defend tiktok (to this day I have not ever used it), but if the issue is the tracking and data collection, you could ban/regulate that specifically instead of singling out the app.
