  • Galaxy S24 Ultra. I got really pissed off at the Pixel 7 Pro and bought this on a (very costly) whim. But this is the first phone I really like since the Note 9. The screen is gorgeous. The software is better than stock android on the Pixel. And it can actually make phone calls!

  • Stupid question, but why not just target more immigration? It's not like there aren't enough people in the world. Having babies first taxes the economy, then eventually helps it. Letting immigrants in now helps now. And they'll probably have babies.

  • Marvel's Midnight Suns has similar top notch graphics, and somewhat similar mechanics, but with deck building added. I don't remember if there's a class system.

If you like the d&d mechanics, check out Solasta, which I like a million times better than BG3. The graphics aren't as good, but it's also not as gore/horror focused.

  • Huh, I can't think of a single time I've accidentally bitten a fork or spoon. I can't even think of a way that it would happen. Now I'm curious if this happens to others?

  • Against the Storm. Picked it up way back in early access and kind of thought it sucked. Saw some people talk about it recently and decided to give it another go, and it doesn't suck anymore! I suck at it, having lost every round, but I keep going back in, so I guess I like it now.

  • I was going to get this, but then read that the new DRM made it unplayable on deck. Is that not true?

  • Brotato. I mean, it's cheap, so not a huge regret, but I really thought I would like it, but only ended up playing it twice .

  • I love d&d and hated the combat in BG3. They made it all flashy and loud, but lost everything that makes D&D combat fun for me.

  • Picked up Sonic All Stars Racing on the Deck, and it's super fun. Never heard about the game when it came out. It's basically Mario Kart with Sega characters, but thats... really fun.

  • Huge eyeroll. There was a writers strike. To make up for all the new content that's not available, Netflix acquired a bunch of old stuff that may be new to subscribers.

  • I loved Linux at work when I had a sysadmin. Shit worked great. At home I started using Linux and despite some driver issues, it was mostly good. Then I started working for myself (so no more sysadmin). Some Linux update totally screwed up my computer and I lost a lot of work. It also became too much work to try and configure the apps that I needed to use for work. Switched to windows and it's been pretty smooth sailing. Still boot up Linux now and again for this or that, but I don't trust it enough as a daily driver for my needs.

  • I mean, I use Windows more than Linux, but seeing the news that it's easier to play games on Linux is great. And from a dev perspective, if I more stuff just works on Linux, fucking fantastic.

  • I use the travel case if I take it anywhere, but I haven't seen any need for a protective case.

  • Probably more than 50% on steam deck over the last 6 months, though overall I've slowed down quite a bit since getting it a year ago.

The last major game I got was Endless Dungeon when that released (maybe in October?), and I did maybe 2 sessions on pc, then played the rest of the time on the deck. So it's still my preferred platform.

I got Jagged Alliance 3 over the holiday, and found it visually a bit too small on the deck, so I plan to play some on PC until I have a good handle on the game, then switch back to the deck. It's kind of similar to Solasta, which I first played on pc, but now primarily play on Deck.

  • It's on game pass if you have that. I started it and liked it, but got distracted. Been meaning to get back to it.

  • I feel like this is a weird take. Children will play good games and discard bad games. They may not do research before asking for a game from a beloved brand, but the same is likely true for many adults.
