  • If you can't see pedestrians on the road (on time) you're either driving too fast, or you're not paying enough attention, or you're driving a car that is not suited for roads with pedestrians. That's totally on the driver.

Leaving that aside, what do you think causes the increase? Dark clothes getting more popular...? I believe it's the rising popularity of bigger cars with bad visibility (and maybe also the increase of phone usage while driving).

  • I stopped using it because my cables got always damaged after a few weeks/months of usage. With a (big) phone in my pocket it's just not possible for me to put no stress on the jack.

I actually stopped listening music on the road for a few years after that until I started using Bluetooth headphones/in ears. Now I wouldn't go back to cable even if it didn't break down so fast.

  • I assume you mean ranking your second choice lower can make your first choice win? I would say that's actually a great advantage of RCV, it means moderates have more chance to win. Someone who's liked by everyone but is nobody's favorite can win.

  • EDIT: After some reading, I retract my statement, Ranked has a bunch of glaring flaws and can be worse sometimes.

Care to elaborate? Ranked choice isn't perfect, (a perfect voting system is mathematically impossible : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrow's_impossibility_theorem ) but I don't see where it would be worse than FPTP.

  • Really? How does it do that? Not everything on Spotify is on YT is it.

Hmm, I think this is a bit deceiving from the developer. I have premium but just want an Android client which doesn't force podcasts on me :(

  • A moral cause in one country can be an evil wrongdoing in other. Case in point - Al-Qaeda was formed because US troops were deployed in some country in the middle east to defend someone.

Uhm, where did you get that from?

Anyway, I get your point, but your example only shows that morality doesn't really stop at borders for most people.

I’m okay with helping Ukraine. I’m not okay if it’s helping only to fuck with Russia.

If it's to stop an authoritarian state from taking over a democratic state it's good for me. If it's because of other less ulterior motives (and let's not kid ourselves, it's at least partly because of that), I don't mind. Is it bad when a doctor only saves lives because it pays well?
