  • The origin for me are the guys who generally demand that the SD should have higher resolution than 720p-800p (approximately).

I personally think the display PPI is good enough in the original Steam Deck. So I wouldn't raise the resolution a lot. Especially when some games struggle to keep 30 FPS.

Of course, the eye to display distance matters a lot for this and that's a bit more subjective.

  • Many people are still playing with a PS4. And generally consoles last several years.

If we can move the optimisations more to the PC world that would be also nice to keep devices running in the longer term.

What I don't think is going to happen is a future steam deck running a native resolution at 1080p requiring much more GPU PWR.

Maybe they'll add 1080p or higher resolution screen and start using more the upscaling.

But running a future GPU bound game natively at 1080p will make any medium term upgrade more like a downgrade.

  • I've been playing on planes, airports, beach, outdoor.

But not much at home. There I still use the PC.

  • My dad has one expiring this year. I told him next time to get some regular laptop with AMD Zen and use it in Windows and if he misses Chrome OS I can just install some light Linux distribution.

  • I see this as part of the experience one has.

My rule is to not take anything that has information from the client.

For example I generally just create a txt file with a few example of "how to do this or that". Generic stuff. So next time it takes me much less time to do the same thing.

  • Actually...consumers end up paying for it. Companies will just increase prices as when the Government taxes them.

  • Well I don't have an original quality cloud backup. So eventually I move the DCIM folder back to my PC.

That being said. I haven't tried "Nearby" to move a 30GB folder with hundreds of items to the PC. Maybe that works fine already. (For a few items it's very fast as long as you have a fast WiFi network).

  • If you want to keep it installed but automatically "disabled" 10 seconds after the screen goes off. Try "Ice Box" app. It will remain disabled until the next app launch.

  • For me. 100% remote.

But I work more for objectives rather than gross time/days. If the project is falling behind I work extra to gain some safeguard. If the project is going well I work more relaxed.

I don't mind working extra hours if I'm already saving a lot of time avoiding travelling to the client or going to the office, living in another place away from a city. Etc.

  • In my pixel 5 for the past 2.5 years I charged using the "adaptive battery" slow charging function. (Which charges the phone in like 6 hours).

And during the day I charged up to 80% or 90% when my battery was going low for the rest of the day.

Also I was charging the phone every 2 or 3 nights because in the pandemic I was not using it a lot.

I think now the battery life is about the same. Maybe 5% worse than new. But it is also hard to test this because the os and the apps and the usage changed between day 1 and today.

An app called "Batt" reports 564 charging cycles though.

  • In Spain it is also yearly. In general the annual salary is divided in 14 payments, unless you ask to have it divided by 12, depends on the employer, so it makes sense.

The income tax is also annual based. So depending how much you earned during the fiscal year you have a different tax rate. (And part of the income tax rate is dependent on the "state" but they are all more or less similar).

  • It freezes the app preventing background usage.

It's like the "disable" option that you have in system apps. But for user apps. In fact, once you disable them if you search them in play store they appear with an "enable" button.

The advantage is that your userdata is still there. And you can quickly open it (unfreeze) from the Ice Box app.

  • I have Instagram installed but frozen with "Ice Box" android app.

I open once per day or 2 days to catch up with some friends status. But I don't see those neverending reels anymore.

  • Beep Beep. Thank you for the update.

  • Yeah me neither. Which is why I'm OK with my current contract which blocks only 3 out of 23/24~ paid time off on December, as a general rule.

In my previous company it was hassle the process to ask for not taking any time off in August (or around August).

  • Many companies in Europe encourage you to take in August because the work is less in some regions and the majority take them during August.

They can't pick all your annual days. But sometimes like 50% of them.

I generally try to take mine during November or March.

Sometimes December because I have to pick 3 days between Christmas and New Year as policy.

  • The OOO full August sucks because every near touristic place is crowded and 2+ times more expensive.

I never pick August. But my company doesn't force me to pick August either.
