Couldn't they just allow immigration? I get that most people don't want to move to China anymore but it would probably help. I also know they won't but would immigration work in a vacuum?

Yup, one of the most fascinating videos I've ever seen was on the subject- fertility rates did go up, but all the kids ended up getting raised by orphanages that abused the shit out of them.

Great to see cassette beasts getting tons of love. I've played Siralim and TemTem but cassette beasts really scratches the same itch as Pokemon while also doing some cool new stuff.

TemTem is 3D but they had a bigger team and budget than my beloved Cassette Beasts.

Graf is probably better than ever now, shame it's not as long lasting was in Rome. Hopefully some of the best artists pick up sculpting so people in the future might have a little taste.

I've been an MMO gamer for a VERY long time and I would say the whaling thing is a perfect analogy. I often pre-order expansions to MMOs like WoW and FFXIV but I have never bought cosmetics other than two race changes for FF, which would make me a "dolphin".

I noticed in WoW and FFXIV that if someone has one mount you can only get from the cash shop, they are VERY likely to have bought TONS of other cosmetics from the cash shop. If they don't have any cash shop mounts, they won't have any cosmetics from it either. It seems like most people are either "all in" or nothing, people like me are very rare.

They'd just hit the ice wall, idiot. And if they made it through that they would hit the ocean of the second flat world beyond our own. If they got through that they would hit either the scorched wastes, the frozen wastes, the abyssal ocean, or the walls of asgard..

EDIT for the tankies: Yes China could take Taiwan in a bubble, but remember both the US and China have nuclear weapons. Also, even if we didn't glass eachother, it would be economic suicide for China over the longterm because the US is China's top trading partner.

All the angles to this KOSA bill are so interesting- a whirlwind of bad ideas thrown together. I mostly know it from its obvious attempts to target LGBTQ+ stuff, but it's really interesting that they think that they should block the super sad news of our dying planet. The best part is that they don't seem to be targeting say, newspapers or TV. Total idiocy.
