  • huh, was not able to get that from your comment. I usually use "/s" in cases like that

  • There is no such thing as "FOSS enough" or "not enough FOSS" it's either free/libre or it's not

    (and ChromeOS most definitely isn't)

  • What helped me was pinning the GPU clock at 1200MHz using the tweakers DeckyPlugin (forgot the name, smth like PoweredDeck?)

though that was like a year+ ago on Yuzu

  • Or open a portal to the (even modern-day) CS-realm and let that energy flow through you and to your mic

  • +1 to this

I think that if we allow xcancel links for fact checking, archive links (and other nitter instances) should be allowed in that context as well, both for posterity (if tweet gets deleted) and since - from my experience - alternative front ends often come and go like the tide

  • Not saying that it's better necessarily, but for fans of that adaptation, taking a look at the soviet rendition might be well worth your while

  • I read it as "Donetsk People's Republic" at first and was confused af

  • kk, just wanted to have this in a thread if the question ever comes up again

  • In the past I just recommended and helped set up Linux Mint to soneone new.

Nowadays I almost always go with Universalblue's Bluefin

  • Was just curious, are the tags from being endorced and contributing financially cumulative in regards to vote weight?

  • tbh this comment just goes to show that your knowledge of GNU/Linux is very outdated

  • I feel the exact same, though I never never know when to attribute it to impostor syndrome...

Like ppl give me positive feedback when I share smth about my limited topics of genuine interest but I have a hard time believing them...

  • and I'm rly thankful for it, making the internet a better place!

  • This instance joining the org is great news, really happy to hear that!

I'm also quite excited about your plans on democratizing this online community, though I would have been worried if you just glossed over those ppl who can't afford to contribute monetarily, but do so otherwise through interactions on here.
I think it's rly important to keep it accessible in terms of that

  • afaik it's still using a daemon, compared to Podman being daemonless, right? ofc it's better to run it in userspace, tho I can't recall if it limited some of the features or not and whether it was easy to set up

  • ofc containerisation is still better than running it natively in terms of security (which is why I said "compared to Podman"), but that's kind of mostly a side effect of it's main thing: reproducible runtime environments. It's not rly good security tho afaik and shouldn't be relied upon in that regard at all, but I don't know too much about it
