I'm neither cis male nor that old but I fit the other two demographics lmao
Might be that tech inrerested ppl are more inclined to switch to less used alternatives when they allow for a more free and open platform. Also the barrier of entry for those might be quite a bit lower than the average Redditor
I mostly have by now, had to look for community analogues of the subreddits most important to me and create communties that I missed on lemmy. On Reddit I was mostly lurking around but here I actually have the motivation to post and manage communities, since I this is an open and decentralized platform.
It links all the crossposts to all communities and not just back to the original post, is kinda akward to do and generally not as fleshed out as on Reddit (which is understandable)
I think it depicts a communist future quite well actually. Errors can and always will be made, Administration will always have to be done, it's just how do we go about those things once we achive a communist society? Proper Star Trek explores those questions and ofc the show in it of itself isn't flawless either
remember: Pessimism of the Mind, Optimism of the Will!
revolutionary Optimism is hard to upkeep but helps with not falling into despair (I know that all too well unfortunately :/)
that's because a capitalist Utopia is in no way realistic (and acutally self-contradictory). The only future Capitalism offers is a dystopian one (if we even get to have a future, which is not all that likely under current circumstances)
welcome to capitalism 🙃
