  • You're a computer boomer, basically don't count. A lot of millennials, with no relation to tech, can use the computer at least for basic stuff. That can't be said about any other generation.

  • Well, it is really old news from a game that launched in 2015, but the summary of it is a feature that allows enemies in the game to remember you, and evolve with the player. You killed an Orc chieftain, his right-hand orc is now the chieftain, and thanks you for clearing the way for him. Lost a battle to a miserable orc archer? Next time he sees you he jokes to your face and tells you how shit you are. It is a great system, but it was patented.

  • Great! I hope he fucks America deep enough, it's high time for that Empire to crumble. I just also hope rhat he doesn't destroy the rest of the world with him, just the part of the world that voted for him. If he can take a few multi-billion dollar corporations down a peg with him might be even better.

  • From my experience, those last years. But they are indeed a bit expensive... I have had my eco tank for the last 5 years, only had to replace the b/w printer head after around 4 thousand prints, and I'm almost sure it was my own fault for using expired low-quality ink that I had bought in bulk for super cheap.

  • I don't have the dread of choosing what comes next, but I'll wait a few days after finishing a really good book before I start to read something else. I think some books need those few days to be properly digested, and cycled out of your system. After a few days, I just pick something that looks at least okay. If it's fun, I'll read it whole, if not, I'll drop and move on to something else. In the meanwhile, before picking the next thing, I'll just enjoy some of my other hobbies. Play games, go deep into a rabbit hole of knowledge I had no clue it would be interesting, touch some grass... Also, it helps to take a look at discussions surrounding the book, it helps me connect through the book.

  • I read over some of your other comments talking about this, and have to say that a Pokemon game is a weird choice. Avoid adaptations of X Popular Thing, and look for original games. It's in those that there's stuff to learn from.

You don't need to agree with every rule from other games, and you don't even need to change your preferences for 5e. But there's stuff out there that will serve you as inspiration, and change the way you understand things in the books you've read before. Start by looking at games in a similar genre, fantasy, high-fantasy, low-fantasy, swashbuckling, sword & sorcery. You'll probably find at least one piece of advice or implementation of a rule that will make you understand the hobby/DMing better in every game out there.

  • When you said officially I imagined you had stumbled your way into becoming an official DM for WotC, running games somewhere in one of their basements, as a job.

As someone who has been a DM for 20+ years, my advice to green ones is that now is the time for you to drop just playing D&D and learn of other pastures, there is a world to explore when it comes to RPGs, or a few. Take a look at some other games/systems, it'll make you a better DM.

  • No we don't, never heard anyone use that term when referring to games that are similar to Vampire Survivors. It's always survivor-like game. Also, bullet heaven is not even an accurate description of the game, as in lots of these games you don't throw lots of projectiles around. If you're going to force a name change, Mob Hell is a way better descriptor.
