  • Oh wow, skipping a microwaving hot pocket just reminded me of the movie Click and how SPOILERS FOR CLICK it just adapts and starts fast forwarding through shit it doesn't think he wants to see until he realizes he misses those things

  • There isn't a DS emulator on switch, so of course they didn't do explorers, even though it is probably the better game.

I also strongly prefer the pixel art of rescue team and explorers before the series went 3D and I still prefer the pixel art to the remake, even though the remake does have a nice style.

  • Thats relatively tame, he's done more ridiculous stuff than that, but it is creative and funny in an "industry" where most streamers just play a game straightforwardly and don't "cut loose" in quite the same way. I'm just habitually hyperbolic.

I also don't want to spoil the best things he's done, half the fun of watching Jerma is discovering those things.

  • He's a fantastic video game streamer. Very charismatic, genuine, and funny. I think one of the things that makes him special is he'll do ridiculous things for a joke. If he thinks of a funny idea on the fly, sometimes he'll basically stop playing whatever game he was supposed to be streaming, and just do something else stupid instead.

For example, one time he performed a "magic trick" by unplugging his modem and then plugging it back in, using the time in between when the stream was frozen to run out of the room, making it look like he "disappeared". He would do insane, hilarious stuff like that regularly, it wasn't like he had special streams where he did things like that, he did them all the time.

Of course he ALSO did special streams where he went even further, such as the "doll house" stream where he had a whole set made up like a fake house and basically became a Sims character with needs bars and everything. He's a really special guy, and you could spend all day listing all of his amazing feats. He perfectly walks the line between being actually stupid in a funny way, and playing it up as a character, it's convincing enough that it all just becomes "Jerma", but he is also a genuinely good guy.

  • Specifically because it's convincing. You may just assume everything is fake, that doesn't mean everyone will. You may not care about seeing someone's imperceptibly realistic nude, but if it's depicting them they may care, and they deserve the right for people not to see them like that.

Just because it's not logistically feasible to prevent convincing AI nudes from spreading around doesn't make it ethical

  • On Android:

Godville is 24 MB, a zero player game where you create an adventurer who goes out and quests, collects loot and equipment, rests at town to sell things, tames a pet, joins a guild, etc. you can influence what they do, but they do it all automatically and you can just observe!

Impossible Dungeon is 35 MB, idle non turn based dungeon crawler with incremental upgrades, I really like it!

Not sure what you consider low MB, I couldn't find any more that I'd heavily recommend at 150 MB so I cut it off there

  • It's not necessary, no, but it can totally be a pro, unless you just don't want to be friends with your lover.

  • That and if the idea of being lonely frightens you or makes you sad it can be easy to want to latch onto anyone, that's really easy to fall into.

Also, unless they meant fear of breaking up, there's no need to fear being divorced if you just don't get married. Not everybody wants or needs to get married, that also sort of falls into the "take your time and really assess the partner" idea

  • Some of those cons could be true, but I think the bigger problem is that they only listed "sex and money" as the only pros.

What are you doing in a relationship if that person isn't basically a really good friend that you can laugh with, do hobbies with, watch and talk about movies with, share music with, etc.

Sure you might have to hang out with mutual friends you don't love (Though a good partner won't force you to). You do need to spend time on their hobbies and likes if you don't specifically share them. I'm not sure if I can vouch for the rest, though, those are some cons where you need to be really selective and find like minds to be with (don't like to speak very often).

the other two (manipulated for sex, fear of divorce) are more like things you should go to therapy to learn not to tolerate or worry about, respectively.

  • Was looking through people's comments and was going to comment hard cider as well, and yours was the final comment! What sort are you drinking?

Today I had Blake's Triple Jam, it is pretty good. Cider's the only alcoholic drink I've ever had where almost regardless of the particular cider I don't need to "get used" to the taste. Most of the time I dislike regular beer and hard liquor is to be tolerated, mixed drinks don't count, that's cheating (but delicious)

  • Yes, that would've been a very valid reason for that person to not recommend an apple product. But to not recommend it because they can't borrow one from everyone around them is such a weird way to put it that I didn't even consider Apple's absurd reasoning for using the lightning connector

  • I'd say from an introverted perspective: you don't have to go to every party just because you were invited. You can just say no to a drug offer if you don't want it, people are usually just like "no prob dude, more for me"

  • I dunno man, my gut says everybody secretly hates me, I'm an imposter at my job, the world isn't worth saving and having kids is a fallacy because they'll just grow up in the resource wars, among other very negative things, I've learned to trust my gut maybe half the time

  • Also don't brush your gums too hard, I did that a bit when I didn't know better, and my gums receded slightly. Turns out those things don't come back. Make sure you brush that area though!

  • Plus, if you preserve your hearing you'll be able to hear all the high dog whistle frequencies that everybody else won't be able to, and you'll feel just a tiny bit superior for no good reason.

  • What a sign of the times. Being subscribed to a fucking printer

  • Plus how can you hold "borrowing a charger" against a phone company? If you don't have a charger on hand that's your fault.

  • I have had two Harley Benton bass guitars, a 5 string fretless, and a 5 string PJ combo, and they both shit the bed and ceased to work in under a year of light usage, both times it was cheap electronics (the pickups).

That being said I have many friends with Harley Benton instruments and amps and they all work fine still, I just got unlucky. Of course, cheap parts are cheap parts and will be more liable to fail than better ones. It is still a lot better than it used to be.

  • Bonus points: funny and they use their own material and don't rely on regurgitated internet memes or jokes
