  • Wow I was so excited to try this out until I saw the absurd level of permissions you require

    I immediately lost interest

I find it very disconcerting that you have no response to other comments asking what your board game app could possibly need to use my fingerprints and other biometrics for

  • KDE neon is not exactly stable for daily driving, I'd suggest switching to another distro that's not meant for testing recent KDE stuff

Can you explain those a bit more to me? I really like KDE neon so I've been using it as my main Linux distro...

I have never heard that it's for the use case you mentioned

  • My experience with my two banks has been, with their respective apps, I can sign in with just a password but I get logged out of the app after 10 minutes of inactivity. I never stay signed in. This is two different apps for 2 different banks.

On the web, they almost always request their crappy 2FA which is via text or email, and I do not stay signed in ever either, as well as being logged out after 10 minutes of activity.

What irks me is their 2FA, they have no other options besides email or text, the least secure options of all 2FA methods...

But being signed out everytime, I'm not sure I see it as that much of a hassle, and I kind of appreciate that if someone can unlock my computer or phone, they cannot open my bank account just because I was logged in 30 minutes ago...

  • Thank you, someone who actually read the study not just the title!

Median data transfer to third parties is 9 per website. Those third parties? Mostly advertisers and marketers, most commonly google.

The disclosed purpose of collecting that data and transmitting to other companies? They literally tell you it's for marketing and advertising in their privacy policy.

  • Thanks I appreciate your insight and experiences, I'm going to give satisfactory a shot when I'm in the mood for factory games since factorios graphics were a slight turn off (especially after EVE and Dyson sphere program)

If you haven't heard of it, I've sunk 200 hours into Dyson sphere program because it scratches the factory itch while also hitting me in the space exploration sweet spot

  • To summarize:

Trans fat is the bad one and is even banned in many countries including the USA. It is formed as a byproduct when making many processed and fast foods.

You should get less than 2% of your fat calories from trans fat - preferably you should avoid them at all costs.

Saturated fat isn't as bad as trans but it's still not beneficial, the jury may still be out on exactly how bad it is, but it's not healthy so it should be limited.

You should get less than 10% of your fat calories from saturated fat

Unsaturated fat is healthy, it's good for you and it's required in our diet as our bodies need it and can't make our own.
