  • I'd expect to be able to go to the phone company and get information on who she's been talking to. I'd expect to be able to get records to prove harassment or bullying, too.

I know that's the reality, but I would not expect that at all. Do you also expect you can call your ISP and get a list of all the sites your kid went to?

  • Most hotels outside the US and Canada actually do a legit good breakfast.

I really think you have this backwards- at least in my experience. I wonder if you're just staying in nicer hotels when you're on vacation.

  • The breads, hams and cheeses of a continental but also heated cloches of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns etc. Also it’s served from about 7.30 to 10.30

And all of them stale because they keep changing them out for a week. The biggest thing missing is most european hotels don't have waffle makers- or if they do they're missing syrup. One hotel I stayed at put the syrup next to their stale pancakes, and nutella next to the waffle maker- they had it very backwards.

  • Extremely cheap, fast food that’s greasy as fuck, has barely any nutritional value, and so convenient that you can just eat it out of the bag - sounds like an American dream.

I've found American food is generally less liquidy grease than british food. Americans don't want fried chicken dripping in grease, they want it dried then covered in various sauces. Also places like golden corral and cracker barrel already exist and are kinda dying

  • I think we're going to have to agree to disagree. To use your example, if my neighbor was smoking in a place that it was stinking up my bedroom, and I asked them to stop doing it there, and they were like "nah I like it here" I'd consider them a huge asshole. Just do it over there not by my bedroom or something.

Telling them they can't smoke in their own home, or can't ride public transit after smoking is ridiculous.

One confounding issue here is that fireworks affect a pretty big area. The whole neighborhood is probably going to hear them.

So does the smell of weed. That was a hypothetical example as luckily my neighbors don't smoke, but my grandparents neighbors do, and it stinks up the car whenever I drive past that whole block- so it definitely is something that effects a large part of the neighborhood.

I've known people who live out in the woods that are big on "I do what I want on my property!"

I live in a city, I had an argument with my partner last night because he was against getting a fire alarm(not mandated in our country) because it could wake up the neighbors at night. Which I believe is a totally acceptable cost, but he does not.
