  • You might think that's no excuse but I'm not fucking with anything running on mains electricity. Thanks, but I like living and not setting the house on fire.

  • It's not delusional if he doesn't believe that. It's just a fucking lie because he's a Nazi trying to defend other Nazis.

  • That's just how you eat rice with chopsticks? How else are you supposed to do it without making a giant mess?

  • A ladder. If it's famous there's bound to be a good chunk of change down there.

  • And penicillin. I'll gladly take the microplastics and credit scores if that's the price to pay.

  • They almost certainly expected it. That's why they've tried to cosy up to him, to get exemptions for their businesses.

  • Being attacked by a cat is annoying, not potentially lethal. Also cats don't usually attack without reason. If a cat keeps attacking for "no reason" that's learned behaviour. Their instinct is to run away from humans, which is what wild and feral cats do unless cornered.

  • Ah, yes. The Uyghur genocide: famously free of genocide.

not that difficult to be better than slavery, genocide, war and colonialism

Apparently it is, because other than constant wars China does all of those things.

  • Two bad things can be true at the same time.

Israel is currently engaged in ethnic cleansings in Gaza and the West Bank.

    True.

Many of Israel's neighbours would "drive the Jews into the sea" if they ever got the chance.

    Also true.

The answer to genocide is not inviting more genocide.

And yes, nukes are effective as a deterrent. Look at how reluctant the West is to support Ukraine against a genocidal invasion because of Russia's repeated nuclear threats. There's no way any country is going to give up its nuclear weapons after Ukraine showed just how little security guarantees from the great powers are actually worth.

  • That was before Netanyahu brought the far right into power, and before the US gave said far right a blank cheque for ethnic cleansing (and that's the charitable way of phrasing that).

Sadly the current Israeli government isn't likely to leave willingly. Certainly not while they have the full backing of the US.

  • The first one is a long s, the second is the "normal" s.

  • I'm from Berlin, what you call a Berliner is a Pfannkuchen to me.

  • It's better to be told that you can't enter by the embassy than to be detained at the border.

  • What an odd way to spell Eierkuchen.

  • It's a problem of reliability. If you need to be at work at 08:00 and your train is regularly late or getting cancelled, you can't take the train to work.

  • Okay, that's bad UX. There should be an error message telling a user what happened and why the verification failed. "Verification link expired." "This email address is already in use." Etc.

ETA: I'm aware that you can't really do anything about that directly, but this is still an issue that should be raised with the developers.

  • Well, keep saying it because you're right.

  • They also won't result in anything other than US disengagement. Ukraine won't surrender just because Trump says so. And neither will Poland and the Baltic states, and because of that the EU as a whole won't.

It won't even end the war. It'll just make America look weak.
