I think were closer to seeing people be forced to rent every comoddity they need to live than we are to seeing full home ownership.

For what its worth I'd wager more bugs have fruit inside them then fruit that has bugs inside.

The dude didn't even speak about weapons in his comment, he simply said the judicial branch isn't supposed to enforce laws based on what they should have been written but as they are. It's the fault of the legislative branch that the only legislation they have to tackle this problem is from the 1930s, but that doesn't mean the courts are allowed to enforce what law should mean when it's written in a legally explicit way, that's a form of legislation from the bench. All of that is simply just how the judicial branch works, it seemed to me much more an explanation than a defense.

Good it should, and I hope we start seeing this more in labor law outside of when the government is going after people who literally attacked it. Something tells me this is just more police privilege than it is labor issue though which is unfortunate.

The funding issue, I think, also exists in forms seprate from the duopoly and needs some kind of fix in addition to RCV. Any party that gives people an alternative to politicians that are bought will clearly not appease donors seeking to buy a politician nearly as much as the big two do. I think both problems need to be tackled, and probably close together, for it to work well. The amount of depth there is to the problems that plague American democracy is honestly really disheartening. I feel many American systemic issues are like this where the current system is so far gone we'd need multiple different laws of varrying scope just to start fixing one aspect.

Id say even more so. Few if any one votes for Republicans for the sole reason of them not being democrats. A much larger portion of the democrats voter base is people who simply dislike republicans more.

Exactly its not about how much taxpayer money is being spent, it's about who it goes to.

Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Providence, Pheonix, OKC, Memphis, St Louis, Detroit, Houston and Cleveland are all in the top 20 by percentage of vacant houses and NYC is #22. This problem is not limted to small rural areas at all. The vacancies are spread across the whole of the country.

There are 16 million vacant houses in the US. Even if half of them are unslavagebale, thats still enough to house the entire homeless population of the US ten times over. I don't think its a supply issue.
