  • Is that a venn diagram or a circle?

Lately I prefer the term "regressives" as I feel it is more accurate than "conservative".

  • The bar is so low for those regressive fucksticks you'd have to go deep mining to find it.

  • And nobody is telling 8 year olds this ffs.

    Regressives are twisted inside.

  • The power of the church enables them to influence more than just the kids of course. Also if adults show reverence to priests you bet the kids pick up on that. And also the parents often side with the priest over the kid anyway if the kid actually ever says anything.

Bottom line: the claims of sexual abuse by "tHe gAyS" are unsubstantiated.

Studies have shown that abusers are not more likely to be LGBTQ than straight.

In fact it is statistically the opposite to a significant degree.

    So why the claims then?

First, modern right wing Christianity is deeply biased to be anti-gay already and so it is no wonder preachers are dead wrong and spreading bullshit myths as well as classing all LGBTQ people as literally "minions ot Satan"

Second, regressives (right wingers) hate LGBTQ people (because they are different and also because of religion). Spreading damaging myths is an attempt to change culture to be in favor of persecuting and attempting to eradicate LGBTQ people -- or whoever else is in the "out group" to be eradicated.

  • Sorry to hear. :(

FWIW gay people have been around longer than the Catholic church.

  • "No wait, Jesus is too woke now." -- actual right wing psychos

  • Dude, who are you fooling, you expect me to Believe you never dropped an N bomb?

Yes. Millions of people can say the same.

Sounds like maybe you are surrounded and raised by racists? That sucks man.

On the other hand, our whole culture has been steeped in racism, ever since Europeans first set foot on the continent. So probably not a lot of people can truly say they've never had a racist thought or held some racial bias or did some racist thing, whether unknowingly or not. Because there are lots of manifestations of racist ideas and if one is white, one is probably blind to at least some of it.

It's a lot easier to never say a specific, disgusting slur.

  • Precisely. Ultimately the blame falls on company leadership for failing to drive security as a priority.

  • People need to do outbursts when people say insane bullshit like this-- along the lines of "WHAT?! ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH LADY??"

  • I concur; he is the fellow I was watching that clarified many points particularly around executive function.

  • I think getting to be super famous is much easier if you have no moral compass to begin with.

  • Any chance you could summarize? It's been a long day and I'm not sure if I want to dive in but at first glance it might be really good.

FWIW I was like 90% certain I had ADHD going into the diagnosis. The DSM was just a part.

What was really the big shocker was listening to other people who had been diagnosed describing their lived experiences and finding them so similar they either were reading my mind and spying on me or we had something very similar going on.

It also helped understanding a bit more about how limited executive function often manifests, described in a yt vid by a psychologist specializing in ADHD

Finally also considering alternative conditions that could be mistaken for ADHD.

  • Let me think about that for a .............

    ..............

    ........... ....

    ........... .

    Broccoli. What?

"agent flounder is totally not having a stroke but will not be taking any further questions at this time thank you"

    whisks a.f. away

  • Best bet is to seek a diagnosis from a qualified professional.

I am a layperson so wtf do I know but my layperson impression: DSM is the source obviously but there is a big gap between the words in the DSM and the details of how symptoms actually manifest for, in my case, ADHD. Also it is a diagnosis manual but the etiology of ADHD hasn't been settled so there's not like a brain scan or DNA analysis to test for it.

  • I kind of feel like that may be a major strategic mistake.

It won't be long before any given instance is overrun with alt right or other disruptive sorts if there aren't good tools to help moderators/admins.

One of beehaw's admins' feature requests is for more granular instance controls such as blocking (defederating) at the community level.
