  • Things can be true on different levels and false on others. The earth is locally flat, it is as a whole a near sphere.

I don't know if we have free will or not, I strongly suspect that physics can explain our minds fully, but I don't know. At the same time even if physics could fully explain our minds in practice we are so complicated we give the impression that we have a limited amount of free will. So yeah the earth is round but it is easier for us to assume flat most of the time.

  • Weapons are tools,

Prove it. Prove that the majority of people think of a gun in the same way as they do a screwdriver

    by strict definition,

    Assertion without evidence

and there are legitimate uses for them.

I see we didn't read what I wrote, only the first sentence of what I wrote.

Besides, my point was that they should be regulated. In fact, because they are less generally useful than constructive tools, they should be regulated far MORE strictly.

By generally you mean not even close to them yes.

  • In the heavy infrastructure/manufacturing sector it sorta is already. Or maybe I should say it's pretty easy to reverse engineer at least to a given point. You might not know exactly what is going on in the firmware level of your PLC but you know exactly what PLC to buy and can see the user domain code running on it.

The thing is unless you are doing system integration or repair there isn't much use for that knowledge.

  • Guns do not belong in the list. Guns are weapons, not tools. Don't bother posting some random edge case that accounts for approximately 0.000001% of use. This is a basic category error.

Governments should make rules banning and/or regulating weapons.

  • Do never change a running system!

No. There are plenty of reasons to change a running system. Spare parts become unavailable, troubleshooting knowledge is becoming lost, and the existing system was terrible and is crowding out better newer systems.

I deal with this attitude way too often.

  • Now now you can come up with a better personal attack than that, especially since you got lying working so well.

You knew that there were nude beaches in the US, you lied about it, then you lied about what you said. All your pathetic attempts at insults won't make you a non-liar.

    But go on and continue
