  • ive met quite a few mormons who drink monster/red bull instead of coffee because the scripture doesn’t say anything about energy drinks. always found that interesting (in the most neutral way possible)

  • that quote you gave was taken entirely out of context. here’s the very next sentence:

In presenting our findings, we argue that a comprehensive look at sexual victimization, which includes male perpetration and adds female perpetration, is consistent with feminist principles in important ways.

  • my experience has been seeing one of these articles/posts about every week since kamala took over. and kamala harris has been drilling this point in her campaigning. but after looking into things a bit more, i think it's probably just because i've been too online and my perspective doesn't seem to be the most common one. i think what you said is probably closer to the public opinion/perspective on this.

so i suppose the use of "reignites" is justified here.

  • that has not stopped me from calling it out. in my experience, most people seem to be unaware that it bothers other people (or at least they claim to be unaware).

that said, a decent number of them are unwilling to change their behavior after being told that it does bother people.

  • Another thing that sticks out about the complaints filed with the FTC is that they seem to involve plenty of elderly fans of Donald Trump. One 72-year-old man who reported chatting with a “beautiful” woman on the site was scammed out of $21,000. His complaint ends with, “I haven’t told my wife about this blunder. She still doesn’t know about it.” Another person in their 60s said they lost $500,000 to scammers on Truth Social and seemed to think there might be a way they could get their money back, telling the FTC, “After I pay this they promise there will be no more fees and I will receive my assets.”

what is even happening here. this reads like something from an onion article.

  • what’s this obsession republicans have with calling people “bad guys”? JD vance said it at least 5 times during the debate, and i’ve noticed it being used more in general. aside from republicans, i’ve only seen it used in jokes
