  • And Kavanaugh was one of the lawyers who was investigating Clinton in one of the most obviously politically-motivated independent counsel investigations in modern history

Dude was pushing Q Anon theories before it was cool

Kavanaugh also argued in favor of investigating the suicide of Vince Foster, the White House deputy counsel, even though two prior investigations had already concluded that his death was a suicide.

  • Wait hold up. Am I seeing this right? Only around 100k people voted in the primary? That feels… incredibly low. I would assume that’s even higher than most GOP primaries in the state, but this one has had unparalleled attention. I would have expected at least double that

  • Yeah, I mean obviously I want the aid to Ukraine to keep going but that’s not happening to the extent that it needs to. Unless Ukraine completely repels Russia from its land, they’re not going to get to make any meaningful peace agreement with Putin. It’s just so frustrating that we aren’t sending them what they need. It always arrives in too little quantity and far too late.

  • Assuming an agreement is made, I hope Ukraine is allowed to join NATO at the expense of officially surrendering the occupied territory, including Crimea. It would be a huge win for Russia but at least Ukraine could get a security guarantee that’s worth a shit and that Russia wouldn’t break in a decade. I also hope the sanctions aren’t let up. Russia’s economy is doing excellent after all right? We would be doing them a favor by keeping the sanctions in place

  • Oh they want to invade, but they’re also aware how quickly they would get leveled. They’re hoping their pawns can do enough damage for them, and to hell with who gets hurt along the way, whether it be Palestinians, the Lebanese, or Yemenis. It’s why to me, it takes a monster to openly cheer for one side or the other. Israel is wrong for what it’s doing to the Palestinians, but to praise Hamas/Iran is just unconscionable. It’s one of the times when it’s totally fair to blame both sides for the mess that’s going on lol

  • Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Mr. Trump, did not directly address Mr. Tacopina’s departure, saying only that Mr. Trump “has the most experienced, qualified, disciplined, and overall strongest legal team ever assembled”

Oh yeah, his legal team is fucked

  • I’m not sure that would be their goal. I would expect them to target key infrastructure and personnel to maximize chaos. I don’t see them being mass murderers. More like calculated assassins and masters of chaos. Bottom line, whether Trump wins or loses, America will be worse off. If he wanted to make America great again, he would throw himself off of his tower in NYC

  • It’s politically useful? No the fuck it isn’t politically useful. It’s a major divisive topic in politics today. You can underestimate the threat Iran poses to regional security and international trade all day and night, but you also lose the ability to bitch and moan about the cost of living when their actions directly implicate those things.

Israel also has a chance to overcome the far right shitstain that is Netanyahu and his supporters and elect a leader who would be committed to reforming relations with the PA. Iran is making it nearly impossible to do so (which is their plan) but it is possible. You can blame Israel for this 100% but Iran shares an equal part of the blame for supporting terrorists across the region

  • I’m sure it did. Dude wouldn’t hire a bunch of people sympathetic to the Palestinians if he hated Palestine. It’s a fragile relationship to balance and abandoning Israel outright would have some severe global consequences

  • I agree with you there! But at the same time, him with less options leaves the door open for more unfettered violence. I think it’s not likely that a bunch of old racist men who cosplay as Navy SEALs would stage a widespread revolt that involves multiple domestic terrorist incidents, but… it’s sort of not impossible either. Some rightwingers took out a power grid near Fort Bragg last year. Makes me wonder if that was a drill

  • Or he is disgusted with how Netanyahu is waging genocide. The U.S. can’t just say “alright Israel, you’re on your own” because it would possibly lead to a nuclear conflict between Israel and Iran. Shit would get out of hand real fast when the militants try to storm Israel thinking it’s go time. I hate Netanyahu as much as I hate Khamenei and Hamas

  • Yeah, well said. I’ve given up trying to convince my MAGA mom that had Trump gotten a second term, inflation would still be high. I walked her through everything that happened and asked her what was it that Biden did that made inflation bad. It’s just crickets. They hear “Biden bad, inflation his fault” and that’s enough for them.

Until they can differentiate between a claim and a fact, we’re stuck with their alternative reality
