  • A lot of single or low double digit millionaires are slumlords on the side. It's much easier to accumulate wealth through capital formation than through hard work. But I'm naive for not believing your anecdata, I know.

Many of the people flying in to try to overturn the election on January 6th were the single digit millionaire crowd you're swearing are all great people on the basis of having met a couple.

I make enough money according to you to drive a Ferrari and lots of others do too. Yet they remain very rare cars. It takes a certain type of wanker to actually buy and drive the stupid fucking thing.

And while we're at it, it takes a certain type to defend the hypothetical owners of a stupid meme car.

  • 💯 and they pretend like it's both developed already, and that it's easily changed to something completely different when questioned about it for twenty seconds and development is already ongoing on their "vision".

The version management on it also bites so it's impossible to anchor to a version.

  • I very rarely ask questions on stack overflow but I appreciate much more as a sanity check on what I'm attempting to do.

In my experience, the majority of people have a flawed initial approach to what they're trying to do, and if they all follow it they'll produce a lot of really shitty software and learn very little in the process.

But they're likely gonna anyway and didn't even appreciate the sanity checks, so I fully expect software quality will continue to go down.

  • My experience with SO is somewhat the same, but sometimes (actually maybe most times) you're trying to use a hammer to screw in a screw.. If you read the suggestions and take them into account you can often find the actual question, and then the actual answer.
