  • You can be impolite while pointing to their actual bad behavior, like the black bagging and deportation and dismantling the administrative state and whatnot. Not their supposed sexual promiscuity. Bit hard to believe how I have to keep explaining this

  • I just don't think this lady's hypothetical sexual promiscuity is the main problem here you know? This shouldn't be controversial.

The problem is the fascism- detaining and deporting people for being the wrong color and stirring up hate against them.

  • I tried this for a bit last year, but couldn't hack the social support network part and everything else steadily degraded afterward, I just couldn't see the point. Now I'm back in a very deep hole tbh it doesn't look like I can get out

  • How can they start handling base loads if there is literally no sun or wind (as happens reasonably frequently). You either need a ton of storage which is its own environmental can of worms or nuclear

  • This is false, they support did:web which ties your identity to ownership of a DNS name (which is its own can of worms, but not controlled by bluesky like PLC).

Unless you mean that you still have to register your pds it to get indexed by the relay, so people can read your posts without querying your server directly (which is possible but discouraged). This is actually an advantage over mastodon/activitypub however, your personal pds will not crash if a post goes viral (unlike a personal mastodon instance).

The Athenian concept of democracy had existed for the better part of a millennium by the time Christianity appeared.
