  • Its not a matter of stick, it's a matter of convenience. It takes too long to get to temperature when I just need one egg.

  • Cheap nonstick flakes nasty teflon chemicals into your food.

All Teflon coatings will degrade if abused. Getting expensive nonstick just makes you want to use it longer than you should (sunk cost), and abuse it because it's "more durable".

So get a cheap T-fal, be very careful with it, always handwash, never use metal utensils, dispose if damaged at all, and only use for eggs.

Lastly, If you can't use a nonstick pan carefully every time, just don't use nonstick at all.

  • I have cast iron, I use it often, but I don’t like using it for eggs in the morning.

  • Nonstick pan for eggs. Get the cheapest. Only use for eggs. Replace if coating damaged.

Does not apply to any other cooking ware tho

  • Ah- fdroid isnt updated yet! Should be very soon

  • If you go to the account switcher, edit, press plus button, then "Pick another Server" you can select a server then press the "..." in the header and "connect as guest".

  • Getting involved in local street design projects, and making a literally concrete difference.

  • There’s a guest mode now even with logged in accounts. Just browse the instance list and press the … in header and connect as guest.

It would be cool if you could then subscribe with another account via guest mode! Hmmmm

  • Personally maybe with some better art, not with the plain mouse logo

  • I'm more curious what it will take to get to 1.0, rather than what happens after 1.0.

  • Yeah, tbh the worst vendor lock-in part of Github (edit: other than the aformentioned social aspect) is Github Releases. And Lemmy doesn't really use them.

  • I think a lemmy roadmap for the next year is hard, because scope and even individual features depend on funding (for example, nlnet funds specific features).

Maybe something like Mastodon's roadmap would be possible though (with no specific timeline)? https://joinmastodon.org/roadmap

  • Huh. I didn’t know those were from Germany. We have them in USA too, just not as common I suppose.

  • I feel like maybe night vision was more important with older cars? Now headlights are blinding.

  • lemmy-ui has same issue. This is resolved in lemmy 0.19 but lemmy.world is still on v0.18 with bugs that have been solved. If its annoying you I recommend switching to an instance running 0.19.
