  • and switched his workflow to GIMP from PS.

Wow I just gave up and started running that shit on Wine, I have never liked his content but I admire his dedication.

I use Krita from time to time for basic screenshot manipulation tho, I just wished it could print directly.

  • So does Dell but I'd rather buy their Latitude line up pre-owned, they seem to have QC issues lately on their motherboards and once you manage to get a good motherboard they basically last forever.

I wouldn't touch their Inspiron line up with a 20m pole.

  • as a part of userbase I don't want to be on sale, thank you very much.

Yeah unfortunately, if you're not paying to use it, you are the product. If you don't wanna be part of the sale you gotta stop using it.

Also in a similar topic, but not quite about chrome, Firefox is still the most popular browser that doesn't come preinstalled by default in any phone or mainstream device, that does not mean is free of issues but is sort of a lesser evil.

  • I feel it started before and it was like that before covid. I'm gen Z and I remember around 2017 the rise of popularity of songs about "me me me being the #1 gang banger the gangster, them bitches love me, them ni**as hating" among the people in my age group, and it sorta just grew from there.

What I noticed during covid and once TikTok style videos became mainstream was sort of a "normalization" or acceptance of the phenomena mentioned above.

Remember Wall-E were everyone in the future is a fat individualistic human being, connected to a bed on wheels with a screen and everyone seems to be doing their own thing with no resemblance of families, couples, friends, goals?

  • Yeah Guatemalans love to brag about that with Mexicans all the time, because their Quetzal is like 12 to a dollar, vs the MXN Peso which is around 20 per dollar. They never mention how nobody accepts their currency other than in Guatemala, not even across the border in Mexico.
