Agreed. There are really only two reasons managers do that. Either they want to deny raises or they want to fire you. Both need a paper trail, and neither is affected by what they say to coworkers. Either way it's time to interview with other companies.

I think this is my favorite. Bringing a wad of fast food napkins makes you seem like a lazy bum. Tupperware lets everyone know you're a cunning mooch.

That's what I was thinking. Linoleum can be ugly and will cut/dent easy, but it's the cheapest to replace.

Also significant that the vast majority of solved murders are committed by someone you know. The FBI stats have <10% of solved murders being committed by strangers. It's impossible to know what percentage of unsolved murders were committed by strangers, but it's clear the odds are not in your favor if it isn't somebody the police can add to their list just by asking around.

I do this with my own stuff. I dug out a few hard drives that were gibberish because they were in a RAID array at one point. I put them all in a Linux machine and eventually found the right command to make them work. I definitely muttered, "I'm in..."

$12? I'm glad I was already lying down when I read that. It was only $2 (total) per load when I was in college 15 years ago, and I was already trying to min-max it then. I'd go back to hand washing and line drying if I saw that.

Same here. And I only separate by weight to help my dryer out. Now my normal clothes are done a half hour sooner and my jeans don't come out damp.

Exact opposite from my grandparents. They keep it at least 27 in the winter. It makes it very unappealing to visit, and I have to take frequent breaks outside in the snow.

I assumed that was all old people, since my spouse's grandparents are the same. Now I'm hoping they're the exception and most older people aren't living like lizards in terrariums.

I was thinking the exact same. I feel wasteful in the summer for keeping it at 23 (73 F). I don't think I could survive 26 in the winter. Maybe if I had never left Florida, but I doubt it.

I'm now imagining an ominous Vine boom everytime the shooter interacted with someone that day.
