  • American voters like someone to blame. In a good economy, that could be about all sorts of things. In a bad economy, it’s about the economy.

  • As a Christian, I have a problem on at least one level with how people treat Christmas and Easter.

For something similar, imagine if instead of Christmas and Easter, the celebration was of your parent’s birthday and that time they flatlined but recovered in the hospital.

And people you didn’t know were celebrating it years later, trying to sell you festive decorations and fighting with each other over whether others were trying to ban the celebration, making it all about some mythical doctor and nurses who once threw a party when your parent survived, talking about becoming a doctor being the true purpose of celebrating your parent’s birthday.

That’s about how messed up this all is.

  • No good replacing them with yourself….

  • Interested in graduate studies? Consider Canada….

  • Unfortunately, that’s not true.

Also unfortunately, a LOT of people are treated as if they’re on a watchlist, even when they aren’t.

If everyone is on a watchlist, that means everyone is being watched so they can be punished if they do anything that could even be remotely considered outside the law.

Pulled over for speeding and you’re on a watchlist? Off to interrogation for you.

  • Agreed. It doesn’t matter what party they belong to, or whether this was an LPC or CPC smear campaign. Eject the people responsible and get an apology from those who authorized it.

  • Would people on the spectrum actually have an advantage on an IQ test? I usually think of those as being “able to synthesize social knowledge and logic” tests… and while most autistic can focus on things they’re interested in, the lack of the social aspect is kind of what defines autism.

Seems to me these people grew up hearing they were special, but didn’t have to put in any work, and were given excuses for why some people may not pander to their wants.

  • Yup. Playing the American or Conservative game isn’t going to help the Liberals.

If they want more votes, they should be looking at the NDP platform and figuring out how to be more attractive to that demographic, not by attempting to besmirch Conservatives to moderate voters.

  • Swiss Chalet has locations in most Canadian provinces, but about 80% are in Ontario and there are currently none in Quebec or British Columbia.

That’s from Wikipedia. Really confused me. Doing a map search, there are at least 5 Swiss Chalet listed restaurants in Metro Vancouver, and have been for at least 40 years.

Did they all close down in the last 3 years? The official website doesn’t list BC restaurants….

  • Yeah; those of us who would never plan to return would do it in an instant—but we wouldn’t have bought a timeshare in the first place. These people plan to return as soon as Trump is out of office.

  • The helicopter that crashed into New York City’s Hudson River lacked a teleportation machine, endless pool and petting farm.

Funny thing is, these days, everyone has a phone, and many cars have dashcams.

Wouldn’t a commercial helicopter have a dashcam with audio recording at a minimum these days?

  • Yesterday I saw a McDonald’s supply truck that said “Egg McMuffins without Canadian farmers” and it had a picture of a McMuffin without the egg.

My first thought was “shouldn’t there have been nothing there at all?”

  • For those of us without timeshares this would seem an obvious solution. But these are people who already spend 6 months there and signed up for a time share in the first place.

  • Of course it might. And the percentages are all subject to variation depending on who wants to buy and sell stock at the time.

  • What I’m curious about is those Florida timeshares that are impossible to get out of. Will people just abandon them and the bank accounts they’re linked to?

  • In India, they’re still useful; just make sure you use the horn too.

  • I’ve only been driving for 33 years, but I try to signal every turn.

Because the signals are for those situations where you don’t see something you should have AND those situations where someone else didn’t see something they should have.

Takes a flick of the pinky to do something that could save you thousands of dollars and wasted time, or even save someone’s life. So why not do it?

  • Except delivery people are registered and tracked. Someone would notice the first time someone died… or possibly even the first time someone got sick.

Unless it was a toxic buildup over time.

More likely to be the person bagging the delivery, because anyone on shift could do it there.

  • Just to note, it could also be other people’s lives.
