Oh yea, they absolutely do and I’m glad the EU is forcing them to open up.
I personally prefer Safari, so I'm mainly looking forward to the sideloading but that didn’t mean that the rest of the world shouldn’t be able to install a real firefox or chrome.
In all honesty, I can understand the browser engine lockdown less than the appstore lockdown. There’s some point to the argument, that sideloading might open the door to viruses, etc. but the browser argument is based on battery life. It’s not 2010 anymore, phones can handle chrome…
And yet, Microsoft is trying to push Edge down windows users‘ throat…
It’s not quite as bad as effectively not allowing other browsers but it’s not far behind. Apple is less obnoxious than that on macOS. They won’t beg for you to use Safari
People use chrome because they’re used to chrome (and because it has the best website compatibility thanks to its near monopoly). And most people sadly don’t care about their privacy.
I personally try to use as little Google products as I can and am happy using a mixture of Safari and Firefox (depending on the platform)
Why? Because Windows is shit and Linux can’t run the software I need.
Also, the Apple OSes are generally pretty nice to use, if you ignore the Apple shenanigans.
The old one was great – in the context of late 00s to early 2010s design philosophy. It fit right in with Apple‘s skeumorphic design language and Microsofts Aero design.
The new one is the perfect answer to the modern, more minimalist design. (Although I’m glad we’re mostly out of the "flat“ design era of Windows Metro and similar UIs)
Nah, no chance. Android allows side loading and the vast majority of apps are on the Play Store still because the vast majority of users don’t even know what sideloading is…
I think Tilly was a very well written character, especially in the beginning. Not much experience, friendly but awkward. Very human unlike the big heroic captains.
But I agree, Burnham is the most unlikeable main character in Star Trek.
I also find Georgeou and Booker annoying and Saru was cool in the beginning (especially when there was still a wow factor for the visual work) but he also wasn’t faring too well lately.
Most of the rest of the cast is okay at least and Jason Isaacs and Anson Mount were highlights in seasons 1 and 2 respectively.
I‘d say Discovery has its moments (aka those including Jason Isaacs or Anson Mount) but yea, the Series as a whole is rather bad with an annoying as fuck main character…
As a German, I have never been to a Christmas market held in an event park. I know Christmas markets as just occupying the town square or city centre instead of a dedicated area away from it.
Event parks are in my experience usually just used for fairs, food festivals and sometimes concerts.
Not every tap water tastes the same. I have had tap water that is a bliss to drink but I’ve also had tap water that was barely drinkable without being filtered…
Also, tea and coffee also profit from using good water while making them.
Nah nah, German cows make Muh
