  • True, they're a bit off the mark, but they were the ones off the top of my head. Also, in my defense, I don't think Pottinger knows what he's talking about either. The man glorifies Age3 like crazy, saying they had to scale back some features, fearing they'd prove too revolutionary. I love Age3, but the game was hardly world-shaking. Take its contemporary Rise of Legends, now that was a title that went balls out.

Still, I'm curious what they're cooking up in that new studio.

  • There's plenty of "evolved" RTSs in the indie scene:

    • Against the storm is trying a roguelike approach
    • Kingdoms and Castles is a banished-like survival with RTS elements
    • Endzone is also a sort of survival-crafter with some strategy mixed in, albeit with some issues.
    • Beyond All Reason is an open source RTS that's expanding the Total Anihilation formula.
    • Manor Lords is a fantastic medieval strategy
    • 8/9 bit armies are colourful, fast paced strategies.

The genre is far from dead, but the problem might be audience. When they demand "evolution" that means it should pander to recent trends like survival crafting and roguelikes and whatnot. Problem is some of these formulas don't usually pan out well for RTS games. Then there's multiplayer and, like other commenters mentioned, ranked multiplayer usually devolves into a bunch of strangers playing the same few maps over and over, but gamers still demand multiplayer.

Alas, I see the genre as not dead but in a "doomed if you do, doomed if you don't" spot. Meanwhile I'm sitting here waiting for a regular old historic RTS like Empire Earth or Rise of Nations.

  • Putin trained the fucker well. First he poisons relationships with neighbors, then the EU. Full ongoing division tactics. Straight out of the brexit cookbook. The only thing that's missing now is for him to pompously declare independence from the EU or smth.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if this was an attempt by Samsung to install an authoritarian regime through this guy, as their puppet. Megacorps do love their authoritarians and Samsung (and a few others) pretty much own the country

  • It's really more shocking to the media, who essentially ignored the guy because he was always trailing in polls. They all had him at 5% and then he suddenly shot up to 16% in exit polls and 23% in actual votes.

The running theory is that the main party artificially boosted him through their votes to have an easier go in round 2 ( "vote for our candidate, not the extremist" ) and it backfired because they underestimated tiktoks ability to brainwash people.

  • Wayfinder. Recently discovered it and i've been having quite a bit of fun with it. It's a former live service converted to singleplayer/coop, so the story kind of blows. But it's a good ARPG - a Torchlight meets Warframe sort of thing.

  • I don't really expect anything good coming from them. To me the likes of Blizzard, Ubi, Bioware, Bethesda, EA etc are shareholder-driven companies, that stopped innovating a long time ago and now only produce and regurgitate the absolute bare minimum slop.

I have been pleasantly surprised on occasion, like for ubi's Anno 1800, or blizzard's diablo 2 remake, but they're few and far between.

  • Not sure what you're fighting me about - I can tell you for a fact that we had local cronies ( in Cluj or Constanta for example ) get away scot-free after taking people's advance payments on new apartment complexes, never building anything and just delaying proceedings until the trial closed. Or politicians' sons that got away with vehicular manslaughter and DUIs simply because of influence. Now I don't know how much influence the tates have, but at the very least they could've hired competent local attorneys that know how to game the system. And the justice system here is laughably corrupt.

  • They learned from our local high-profile crooks that if you can delay proceeding for a couple years, the process ends. Or if you know people that know people you might get lucky and a judge retires, in which case the whole thing starts from scratch. Meantime they can continue to build their public image and pick fights with kermit or whoever on twitter. have very little hope that they will be prosecuted "to the full extent of the law".

  • Is it just that brand? I understood that they tested 148 cans accross 5 countries and they are all over the limit ( which, depressingly, is not related to the amount that the body can absorb but the average amount that was found in tuna at the time the rule was implemented )

  • called on Hungarians to "resist" Brussels as they did Moscow in 1956.

Imagine saying that while commemorating a Russian invasion, and while being best buddies with Russia who are again invanding another country! How he has not been egged or milkshaked yet is beyond me. Those poor bastards died for nothing, didn't they.

  • He said Sunday he expects criticism from the West of his conversation with Putin, but stated that “Serbia is a sovereign country which makes its own decisions.”

He also thanked Russia “for providing sufficient quantities of gas for Serbia at favorable prices.”

Ironic lol. Well placed paragraphs AP. And congratulations Serbia, you're on the path to achieve that greatest honor of overtaking belarus in becoming russia's top bitch.

Still, I get why vucic is playing at both ends, Serbia is a hard country to run, and so far they've been ok-ish despite not having advantages like being in the EU, Schengen or the EEA.

Belgrade’s nationalist authorities marked the liberation date with a display of the pro-Russian sentiment, with thousands marching through Belgrade waving Russian flags and chanting slogans.

This I don't get though. For a nationalist government supported by nationalist serbs you'd think they noticed by now how russia treats their neighbors and vassals. If the russian border was on the Danube, you'd bet your sweet nationalist asses they would invade Serbia, because that's what russia has always done. They just take shit.

  • I wouldn't hold out too much hope for her. She will probably listen to her AIPAC overlords and will not stray too much from the policy. She might not be as bad as Biden the zionists still have a lot of say. I mean ffs, Bibi had the nerve to do a fucking tour of Washington, after months of pro-palestine protests on the US.
