The point of insurance is supposed to be cover surprises because everyone eventually has a few. Typical dental coverage nowadays isn't really insurance at all, it's a payment plan. I literally opted out of insurance in a year where I expected I needed dental work and it saved me money.
Huh. It seems dramatically different. I watched some solo of it and it's not drawing me in like Spy Party did. I think the simplicity is part of what I liked about it. Deceive looks like it regularly devolves into little shoot-and-run matches. An FPS with a spy gimmick (which is cool, but I hate FPS games)
I wish I personally could defederate from an instance while still using an account on a lemmy server. I've blocked at least a dozen communities from lemmygrad that showed up on my frontpage.
Here's a balanced take from someone with moderately bad ADHD who very rarely smoked weed (so, not biased).
A mild high feels like a bad ADHD day, but then I had a fewer symptoms after the high is gone. Trace amounts could get me mostly symptomless without any real feeling of "high", but I'm so lightweight that would be less than what most people call "microdosing".
A moderate high...well, probably the same as everyone else (except I would get there for less than most). Then the entire next day it was like I didn't have ADHD at all.
Beyond that, I only did once and I "greened out", possibly related/causal to the part where I "very rarely smoked weed". Greening out with ADHD is like greening out without ADHD I'm sure.
Yeah, I had RIF on the last 4+ phones as my primary drivers for reddit. So now, I'm on Lemmy. I miss some of the niche subs I was on that simply aren't showing up here yet, but it's a good opportunity to reduce my "reddit obsession".
Yeah, this is a common issue. Even if you know to link, many people don't. Nothing like having a bunch of egress-links where you end up in another instance.
Perhaps it'd be mitigated if you could use lemmy instance as a client for your own login and somehow "share" the credentials between them. But that doesn't seem to be happening either.
A couple, I think. WoTshow is one I really liked. And exatheist is a tiny sub where a bunch of people who were once atheists of all different religions talk religious philosophy.
"Everything looks good, come back in 6 months."
(6 months later)
"Looks like you need 2 root canals and a crown."
