IMHO you should both just walk you own career path. Your relationship and your careers should not be tied together. You can still support your boyfriend when he goes to college next year, but you should not be there to hold his hand all the way. College is generally not as hostile as high-school. It's full of important lessons to learn about life and society and such. Your boyfriend should learn those lessons himself. You can guide him from afar as the experienced partner.
