  • It was always private companies. Givt gave tgem lots of land and money, looked the other way at incidents like this, and let them merge like rabbits in the 80s-90s.

And took passenger off their backs in the 70s, forming Amtrak.

We need to establish National Trackage Rights for true competition and improved safety.

  • I use Fennec for Firefox. Fdroid can then do updates. I disabled Play Store and Services. plugins work on Fennec.

For reddit, try old.reddit.com with Vivaldi. It is chromium based so works on sites with chrome/blink bias, but also has built-in adblocker (needs to be turned on in prefs). For me, old reddit font scaling is better on Vivaldi than Fennec.

  • Jobs was our asshole. New version of OS X would have issues and they'd fix stuff through point releases and things I noticed, he also noticed.

I'm not convinced that Cook knows how to use a computer. And he certainly didn't know how to deal with Ive, which boils down to knowing software vs hardware.

  • I'm not gatekeeping at all. That's a simple factual statement. I don't look down on them, they do good things, so does the Catholic church.

Real Buddhism is not a religion. It has no baggage. It's a practice. People who do the practices are Buddhists without needing to say. They simply are, you are what you DO. Not what you say.

The entire dhamma could be obliterated and it could be regenned with the practice.

Zen Flesh Zen Bones has an account of that... Monk sees master burning the books... "What are you doing?!"

Master says, "What are you saying?"

Religious people have holy things, practicers don't.

Try remaking a religion from scratch with prayer.

So religions are what they are, not my cup of tea. Static, unyielding to change. Outdated.

    Can't gatekeep the truth.

  • Try "11 miles an hour", I think they're right on with that one.

But "Elvis's Rolls Royce", not so much.

What other band had Ozzy and Mel Torme on the same album? And Mel sang about an accidental strangulation.

  • qzs

    Jump
  • Pulling into an area, the odds of unwanted clinging proximity decrease with more turns made and the more gnarly the road choices appear.

Simple flow chart with unpopular choices. Three gnarly turns in a row is pretty solid.

If it's ugly looking, of course walk it first. Even big puddles will deter weaklings and tweaklings.

Thus I've woken in the middle of the night because the moon has come up and I'm surrounded by lowing cows, or being bumped by a bear, or being practically deafened by profound silence (mostly).

  • We need National Trackage Rights in the USA.

They had no problem deregulating trucking si that any company can serve any customer, let railroads do the same, i.e. Union Pacific can serve BNSF or NS customers.

And large customers, esp hazmat shippers, can run their own trains. The environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio likely woukd not have happened if those chemicals were self-shipped.

Railroads used to have to run their iwn passenger trains, govt formed Amtrak to take the burden off them. We could give successor railroad companies that burden back.
