  • The same way you install revanced, you basically have to reinstall it with an updated APK and patches. At least that's how I did it.

  • I use YouTube revanced, and after a quick update a few weeks ago it's working fine again

  • South Africa and the old yellow Metrorail trains make New York look like paradise. The new blue Metrorail trains look nice though. We also have the Gautrain which is nice, but is basically a rich people only train service.

  • Surprised by C# and Java. People always moan that they have too much boilerplate code and something else about how OOP sucks and that makes these languages too verbose, yet they're close to the top of the chart here for least characters used on average.

  • Yeah, here in South Africa most cars are manuals so you need to know how to drive them to get a full drivers licence. If you do your driving test in an automatic car, your licence only allows you to drive automatics. I'm in my mid 20s.

  • The cover screen seems like an awkward form factor for typing though. There's a reason Samsung and Motorola have the cover screen take up the full width of the phone, it allows the keyboard to be of a similar size as the one on the inside folding display. Motorola went even further by matching the pixel density of the cover and inner displays for a more consistent experience. Which makes sense when you can use all kinds of apps on the cover screen, which both Samsung and Motorola allow, and Oppo will allow with the Find 3.

On the other side of it, the aspect ratio of the cover display on the Oppo closely matches the aspect ratio of the inner display, whereas the Samsung and Motorola cover screens are more square.

Three cameras seems cool, but is it worth the sacrifice in cover screen size to the average user?

  • Low 30s °C can either be okay or absolutely horribly hot depending on stuff like humidity, cloud coverage and wind.

  • I like coriander seeds instead. While the coriander leaves (cilantro) taste like soap to me and are not nice, the seeds are fine and actually pretty delicious in certain dishes.

  • It's pretty embarrassing that Google got outdone by Samsung on the update front. Mid range Samsungs getting more Android version updates than flagship Google Pixel devices should never happen. Google matching or exceeding them is the minimum of what should be expected.

Also the first few generations of tensor just being a rebadged Exynos processor has hit their reputation hard. Everyday users don't know what chip is in their phone, but they do know that cell reception and thermals have gotten worse since the change.

  • I think instance level blocking from the user side is coming soon™, so that should help if you want to avoid us.

In general I don't think taking internet arguments with strangers so seriously is helpful or healthy. And before I get accused of hypocrisy, I've called out dunk tank posts on hexbear for similar reasons.

  • That's actually pretty cool.

My username was just me randomly mashing the keyboard, yours actually has some meaning haha

  • Need For Speed Underground 2 and Burnout 3. Got it as a combo deal for Christmas as a kid.

  • 1.5 TB for the PS4, and 500GB for my PS3, which also has PS2 and PS1 games. No PS5 yet

  • Or even 9gag, I would say it went downhill, but it already started in the dumps so...

  • They saw a captioned video on the TikTok and actually believed it

  • “Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies.”

    • Nelson Mandela

I struggle with this one a lot, I definitely have a lot of resentment built up as I've grown up. But holding all in just makes my life worse, it only hurts me. It is mental prison of sorts. I think there's another Mandela quote that states exactly that as well.

  • My personal definition would be "authoritarian communist (or """communist""") regime supporters/apologists".

What does this actually mean? Is Nelson Mandela a "tankie" to you? You might think I'm being facetious, but I'm serious. I'll link some photographs and quotes from Mandela that a lot of the capitalists in charge want you to forget:

"I read works by and about Che Guevara, Mao Tse-tung, Fidel Castro. In Edgar Snow’s brilliant Red Star Over China I saw that it was Mao’s determination and non-traditional thinking that had led him to victory."

“The revolution in China was a masterpiece, a real masterpiece. If you read how they fought that revolution, you believe in the impossible. It’s just miraculous.”

"From its earliest days, the Cuban Revolution has also been a source of inspiration to all freedom-loving people. We admire the sacrifices of the Cuban people in maintaining their independence and sovereignty in the face of the vicious imperialist-orchestrated campaign to destroy the impressive gain made in the Cuban Revolution."

"Within that international support for our struggle the Soviet Union and other socialist countries stood out. The governments and peoples of the socialist bloc gave material, moral and political support to our struggle in a manner and on a scale that we will never be able to repay."

So again, does this make Nelson Mandela a "tankie"? If so, what does it say about "tankies " and the west, in that the so called "tankies" supported Mandela in the fight against apartheid, while the west did not. In fact, the west often supported apartheid. Even Antony Blinken admitted to that recently.

"The Soviet Union was supportive of the freedom forces in South Africa, and of course unfortunately, more than unfortunately, the United States was much too sympathetic to the apartheid regime, so that history also doesn’t get erased, you know, overnight, it's a process," Blinken said.
