My point (i.e. the "high hopes" part) is that this sounds legit and awesome. I do my best to be an optimist, but I have been burned way to many times to not concede that there may be ulterior motivation afoot.

I have high hopes but my logical side says they can just be pandering like any of the other politicians: they know people support it, they know it will fail. They look good for backing it even tho they aren't worried about changing the status quo either

Maybe it depends on the access point. When I turn it off on my router there are no beacons sent. Unless you specifically probe the ssid it doesn't announce itself. BUT granted when you make a connection the ssid does show up during the handshake. If you were watching at the exact moment of connection then it would be detectable. I suppose they could use a mass deauther device and cause new connections and detect while that is happening but they they would need to triangulate the location of said ap... Again a lot of extra equipment.

I would set up your router, turn off ssid broadcast and forget about it. It's doubtful they have the equipment to find an access point that doesn't actively announce itself to the world .

Edit: it means you will have to manually add your wifi network to your devices by typing in the ssid on them but other than that there shouldn't be any issues

Sounds cool but most of the folding phones I have seen are as thick as 2 phones stacked when folded. If this is now 3 phones thick I think it looses some portability unless you put new pockets on your pants.

Something similar happend to me in Connecticut. Some underaged kid driving her father's SUV backed into my car in a parking lot. She got out, apologized. I took a picture of her, the car and the license plate. She apologized to me and called her father who told her to get back in and drive home. It took the police 6 hours to respond, finally around 2am. They took the details and looked up the vehicle which had expired insurance. They went to the owners house, found the vehicle and knocked on the door. When no one answered (at 3am) they gave up, closed the case and told me to take it up with my insurance because they were understaffed. My insurance company tried using them for 6 months but eventually gave up as well as the police basically refused to help with anything other then the report.

I appreciate your concern. Clover is a girl kitty... She sees the vet two or three times a year. We got her from the rescue and she was a larger kitty then this and has been on a diet. She is and has been very active chasing her step brother and sister around our house, because she believes that she should be the only cat in he house. She doesn't like wet cat food or people food at all. It's slow going and it doesn't change the fact that she is a lot of kitty. It was about 85 in our house the day I took this picture and she flopped in the tile floor to cool off.

It amazes me that people in this thread tell me all about how I care for my cat by just looking at a picture of her.

My point is that it doesn't matter who you vote for, whoever it is is going to support genocide. You can choose not to vote. You can vote for someone who has no chance. Or you can choose to select a candidate based on other things they have said or have done.

Good to know. I know a couple of people in the steam deck world who dual boot windows and steamos and have their games on a btrfs partition that use it so they don't need games installed twice ... I have no desire to do this so I have never tried.

Tbf Google's AI will hallucinate and out and out lie to you depending on what question you ask it, so maybe it isn't the best source. I agree it amazes me that people can lie like this and not be checked for questioned... And Google use to be the best way to check. Unfortunately it isn't any more. And various news sites have their own agenda and won't always tell you the truth either. Unfortunately I dont know of any source you can quickly check and get a definitive and unequivocal answer any more and I think people like trump understand and exploit this.

I don't excuse the media for not talking about this, but I also don't think it would matter if they put it on a 24 hour news cycle and shouted it from the rooftops. Or if they used the emergency broadcast system to send the story directly to every phone owning American. The cult of trump just doesn't care. My (ugg) Facebook feed is full of people saying that felony's don't matter when it cost them some extra cash to buy groceries. I see people almost daily wearing clothing proclaiming they are voting for the felon. They just do not care about what ever he has done.

Btrfs and df don't get along. There are all sorts of internals to btrfs that non btrfs utils ignore. You should run

    
sudo btrfs filesystem df /
sudo btrfs device usage /

  

It will give you a better picture of what is going on.

Balancing my help as someone above pointed out, or you may need to boot to a live media of some kind and rebuild the free space cache. Especially with btrfs I encourage people to join their mailing list for help. The devs are awesome and can help you get sorted out.
