  • No, they are actively trying to get in right now. If you have Authelia exposed they’re brute forcing it.

No, they aren't. Just to be sure, I just checked it, and out of the over 2k requests made to the Authelia login page in the last 24 hours, none have made it to the login page itself. You don't know jack shit about what's going on in another persons network, so I'm not sure why you're acting like some kind of expert.

  • No, people are probing it right now. But looking at the logs, nobody has ever made it through. And I run a pretty basic setup, just Cloudflare and Authelia hooking into an LDAP server, which powers Jellyfin. Somebody who invests a little more time than me is probably a lot safer. Tailscale is nice, but it’s overkill for most people, and the majority of setups I see posted here are secure enough to stop any random scanning that happens across them, if not dedicated attention.

  • You know, I really expected Dune to be shit, with mixed reviews at best. And here we are, with them having very positive reviews on Steam, and apparently 1mill players already.

I’m happy to see that I was totally, absolutely wrong. Thinking of picking it up.

  • “You would think piracy is coming back because the streaming experience is shit, but that’s not it”

Proceeds to spend 14 minutes telling us how it’s ultimately because the streaming experience is shit

  • My go to secure method is just putting it behind Cloudflare so people can’t see my IP, same as every other service. Nobody is gonna bother wasting time hacking into your home server in the hopes that your media library isn’t shit, when they can just pirate any media they want to watch themselves with no effort.

  • You need to work on that reading comprehension.

  • Bazzite works pretty well on ASUS laptops, just be sure you select the ISO for ASUS so you get the ROG control software to manage stuff like your fan curves.

  • Yes, thank you, I’m so glad there are people on Lemmy to take every painfully obvious joke deadly serious.

  • According to that thread, when Ubuntu tried this, Valve refused to provide a 64bit version. But if they suddenly decided to, then I think the answer to your question would be obvious.

  • f/32? are you shooting on the sun?

  • I want to say no, but I'm sure if I did somebody who has tried that would pipe up with a problem they found.

  • Steam in a flatpak sometimes runs into permission problems. That was supposedly fixed years ago, but every so often a game pops up that doesn't work without getting hacky. Native just doesn't have those issues.

  • The flatpak has its own issues. Namely, that Steam was never meant to be run like that, so you run into bugs the native version doesn’t have.

  • Older games? What are you talking about? They say in that thread that Valve doesn’t release 64bit versions of Steam. That means any games through Steam using the official client would be unplayable.

  • That would require redoing everything. It would be a massive project, and honestly since there’s already other gaming oriented distros out there, what would be the point? It’s not like Garuda or PopOS is shit.

  • Well, no. If it actually happens, Bazzite can’t exist. Valve only releases 32bit of Steam for the official client. If support for 32bit is removed from Fedora, then gamers won’t be able to use Steam on Fedora or its downstream distros.

  • and copyparty is on there. it has everything they need.

  • I agree, Gnome 2 was better. Ever since then, however, Gnome has been the worst environment available.

  • I honestly forgot this game was even being made, it’s been so long since they announced it.
