  • In all my years, I've never been forced to donate to a private tracker. Most of them throw ratio at you, because you get it for seeding even if nobody is downloading from you. Shit, on MAM, I actually only have a 0.3 ratio, because everything is seeded so well. But I've been given credit for a 23.1 ratio.

If a person feels like they're being forced to donate, it's probably because they're a leecher, and used to being able to just quit torrents whenever they want.

  • Private trackers have more torrents at better quality than public trackers. MAM has more books in more formats than anyone else. AvistaZ has more Kdramas than anyone else. This is the benefit of private trackers. If I want a book series, I know I can go to MAM and not only find the books individually, but also packaged together as well. I can get them in ebook or audiobook. I can have my choice of narrators, if multiple ones recorded the book.

You say you've never needed a private tracker, and that might be true. But what's also true is that you've made do with whatever scraps have been uploaded to public trackers, in whatever quality and format you can find. And you've never even had a taste of the choice that comes with a private tracker.

  • Well, it IS linkedin, so it's mostly just corpos bullshitting each other anyway.

  • I mean, a few months back somebody posted a linkedin, mad because they were looking for a prompt engineer, so apparently it is a real job.

  • Literally none of the private trackers I’m on are like this. And I only use automation for finding, downloading, and managing my torrents.

You’re absolutely full of bullshit on this.

  • Yes, you do need to provide evidence for your claims.

No, I don't, because I didn't make any claims. I don't need to disprove your conspiracy any more than I need to disprove that some god or another doesn't exist. Don't be so fucking lazy, if you want people to think you're anything more than some idiot on the internet, prove your own theories.

You came back a week later to once again spout barely legible nonsense, probably thinking yourself particularly clever. A notion that is disabused by your seeming inability to understand even the arguments you're making, let alone those of others.

This is Lemmy. Nobody has to engage with you in good faith, nobody has to humor your demands. Nobody has to listen attentively while you spout conspiracy theories. And if you seriously think I "lose" anything by not agreeing with you simply because you desire me to, then it does nothing other than show how lonely and unfulfilling your life is. Until you responded, I had forgotten you even existed. A week from now, I will have forgotten again. You're simply not relevant in any way to me.

Now do us both a favor, and go away. Feeling pity for you is making me sad.

  • See, that’s the thing. I don’t listen to music by Nazis.

  • Wait, so now they have a crisis of conscious? After they stop getting paid, suddenly they have an issue with the horrible shit Palantir does?

Nah, fam, you don't get to back out of responsibility.

  • Sorry, I should have phrased that a little differently. What I mean to say is the game should not be limited to just the mechanics of the older games. There's so many small mechanics they've added since the days of the 2D games on GBA that shouldn't be ignored just because they aren't retro.

One mechanic I've always loved in any game it's been in is the ability to have a hideout/home/etc that you can deck out with furniture and whatnot to make it your own. It's just a comfy mechanic to have.

  • Old mechanics? No. Old aesthetics? Yes. Pixel graphics are best.

  • Through this lens it became clear: stablecoins will become a financial backbone for the $500B global gaming economy.

The people interested in alternatives to SteamOS for Linux gaming probably aren’t going to be the sort of people who are interested in cryptocurrency or more micro transactions. I don’t think they have much of a clue what their target audience likes.

  • I lost a parent to a spiritual fantasy. She decided my sister wasn't her child anymore because the christian sky fairy says queer people are evil.

    At least ChatGPT actually exists.

  • I just love a smug, self-righteous post from somebody who has the reading comprehension of a particularly dimwitted wet noodle.

  • Permanently Deleted

  • “We have learnt from our history that right-wing extremism needs to be stopped.”

So, they're gonna stop sending bombs to the right-wing fascists in Israel, right? Right?

  • Hawaii was a sovereign kingdom that was invaded and taken over by America, and the indigenous population massacred until they fell into line. You've got a lot of nerve to talk down to an indigenous people who are keeping their options for defending themselves open under the fascist rule of a white supremacist.

  • SearXNG, Forgejo, Linkwarden, Vaultwarden, copyparty, all the Servarr apps, qBittorrent and SABnzbd for downloads, Syncthing, Mastodon, and all the various containers like databases and other tools that support the aforementioned.

  • No, I'm not arguing that it's horrible from any other viewpoint than my own. And I'm super privileged enough to be able to both afford and have access to better options.

  • You mean they're going to turn Androids into Chromebooks.

Honestly, it sounds horrible, but for people who don't have a PC, I guess it could be a benefit.
