Love my U4s. I haven’t really used any other tactiles to compare with. My last switches were box jades which are on the opposite end of the “loudness” spectrum (and probably others). Was struck by how much less wobbly they were, too.
They got me good with this one time. It looked like a newsletter from like Seattle times or something, I was like I didn’t sign up for this shit and immediately clicked the unsubscribe link, boom enrolled in training. Well played, guys.
Makes sense. Even just being able to easily change it on your own would go a long way. I have a hard time seeing public key cryptography really catching on for something like this, but maybe it will.
Before I had it all automated, I used to use a browser extension which would send them to the web ui without having to actually open deluge at all. I think it was called deluge siphon.
I was a little disappointed in Standby. I was kind of hoping for something that could replace my old school nightstand alarm clock, but I have a hell of a time reading any of the clock “faces” without glasses in the middle of the night, despite the numbers being both larger and physically closer to my face than the little 7 segment display on the alarm clock. And the display turns off after a while, I guess if there’s no motion or something, even with AOD enabled. I could live with the latter since I understand it’s an OLED display, prevent burn in and all that. But the former makes it a no go for what I wanted. Maybe they will add some more faces next time around.
