  • These calculations are a bit off IMO. They factor the total amount of mining and divide it by the number of transactions.

    However, the amount of mining is not dependent on the amount of transactions.

    I'm not a fan of bitcoin due to the wasteful proof of work mechanism but 'blaming' the transactions is not really fair IMO, especially because people don't really use bitcoin as a payment method anymore. It's just used by speculators now.

  • You underestimate how scary it is for them to do anything out or the ordinary. Most "normal people" and I include people like project managers in a tech company, really think things will blow up if they mess with any settings.

    This is why the default browser setting is so valuable.

  • I wish, I have not found a way yet and I work in cybersecurity. Though I have to admit I didn't give it my best at all.

    One thing I would like to try soon is running FLauncher. Though I kinda doubt they will allow another launcher to be set as default. Their site offers some workarounds but "Fire OS" is a lot more locked down. For example using the normal ADB command to turn the screen upside down (needed for my projector) is not working either.

  • Does that help? For me it doesn't stop anything. It looks like it uses DoH or something to bypass filtering.

  • I hope you're right.

    However I also never imagined my country (Holland) the PVV extreme-right would become the biggest party by far. People really have gone mad. Even some of my friends are now so hostile against immigrants and transsexuality in particular, I just don't know where it comes from. I guess they doomscroll too much in the wrong places and edge each other on or something.
