  • Tell me you’ve never had to Jerry rig something because you got priced out of that market without telling me.

The final sales price for something from a mega corporation is whatever the mega corporation wants you to pay. If they only sell washing machines for 1200 dollars, but I won’t buy a washing machine for that, then I just don’t get a washing machine. Have you never been to a store in America? You don’t haggle over the price of an appliance with the cashier at Walmart or Home Depot. And some dumb fuck will be right behind you ready to take out a small loan to pay for his new washing machine. So the corporation doesn’t really see the loss in revenue.

  • Where exactly are they storing these fuel cells? Most commercial planes store fuel in the wings, unless I’m mistaken. Imagine a bird strike that exposes pure sodium metal to a cloud or something. Now you have a metal fire on the wing of your aircraft while it’s in flight.

  • Linux Mint is very user friendly. It’s basically the windows UI, including all the familiar keyboard shortcuts, and the software store is very robust. 99.9% of things are just point and click. Using Steam and a browser is the exact same experience as on windows, only a bit snappier.

  • My experience has been more like this:

OP: I’m trying to make lasagna from scratch but my noodles aren’t turning out right. Here’s my noodle recipe and settings for my pasta machine.

Mod: duplicate post of “How to make canned spaghetti bolognese” thread locked.

  • If it wasn’t for the stupid Darrel Dixon show, my head canon of the walking dead only affecting America would still stand.

They literally just walk, and it would be pretty obvious that everyone is infected after the first year or so of people dying from the flu and shit. Any country with competent leadership could have squashed the zombies in a couple months.

  • Was on a plane for the first time a couple years ago for my honeymoon.

Likely going to be for the last time, given every time I get a raise, the price of everything fucking triples.

  • Most 3D printed guns use commercially available parts for the pressure bearing components.

A 3D printed Glock uses a slide and barrel bought from Glock. The only 3D printed part is the frame, which is the only part that has to be serialized.

  • The elderly keep many disappointing restaurants afloat.

There’s a place by my house that has aggressively mediocre food. Every dish on the menu is merely edible, nothing to rave about. The sphaghetti tasted like Chef Boyardee, the steaks are under seasoned, the fish is overcooked, burgers are decent but always dry, gyro platter and sandwich are served with watery tzatziki that ruins the otherwise pre prepared meat, and the entire breakfast menu is always served just slightly warm. This place has like 150 menu items and does none of them well.

The only reason I go there is because I take my grandfather out for dinner twice a month. I ask him where he wants to go, and half the time he wants to go there. I have taken him to good restaurants but he doesn’t like the selection. He wants to be able to pick from 200 choices in one spot, even if none of these are particularly good.

  • I would assume that the North Koreans took an old Soviet sub designed for 5 dudes, and crammed 9 into it because they couldn’t build a 9 person sub but needed 9 people for something.
