I think the point is that they are all old, weird, and dangerous. Vance isn't old, but he is weird and dangerous.
And let's be clear, this is a different kind of weird. I'm weird, but I'm weird because I like kids shows, make bad jokes, and pick at my fingernails.
They're weird because they like to fuck kids and underage teens (a surprisingly large portion, anyway), make decisions that hurt the people they want giving them money and support, and want to pick which immigrants are the "bad" ones.
I sure hope she doesn't approve that message. I think with enough supports (food, housing, education, etc.), most people who commit crimes would stop. That, of course, is not enough for assholes like Trump. He's racking them up like he's going for the record.
Other than Bernie running, Dems haven't had a reason to be excited. Hillary, while skilled, makes a lot of folks unhappy for all sorts of reasons. Biden could have done so much worse, but he wasn't the bastion of progress many people wanted, and we didn't know before the election how well he would actually do. For this election, Biden just didn't seem like he would last 4 more years, and he didn't seem like he had the fight left to take on Trump. Harris represents a real chance at some progress, and certainly staving off the return to the good ol' times that the Right is hellbent on achieving.
To add to this, a lot of people don't see individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) as people. To them, they're something else.
A person with IDD has all the same rights, including voting, as any other person. To reinforce that, many (or maybe all) states have their rights specifically codified (e.g., Florida Statute 393.13). To remove those rights, it requires a court order, just like it does for you and me.
In Florida, the supports for individuals with IDD promotes and assists them with the voting process, especially with getting to the polls to cast their votes!
Michelle is a thoughtful and intelligent woman with some great experience, but I think she feels like she served her eight years, and has earned retirement (mostly) from politics. I tend to agree. That said, I'd be happy to vote for her in an election.
This is hilarious. I'm sure someone with more bandwidth than me can point out a dozen reasons why this is bad, but fuck if it isn't funny and appealing.
Because it's costly to bring materials and to set up mining operations, a lot of tools will be made of readily available moon rock. So, maybe we'll have a moon stone age, too.
Nothing you are saying suggests that the manipulation you are loosely referencing would actually create the lightning rod they need in such a short period of time. Maybe they can find that person, but it would need to happen quickly--very quickly. They usually require a lot of trial and error, which they don't have time for. That's the problem the Dems are having with whether to replace Biden. Will Kamala be able to rally folks to the polls? It's all manipulation. The speed is the key here with such short timeframes.
Probably Alexander, if there's a gram of accuracy there.
