  • I'm not sure if they've got it posted anywhere else, but if you can tell me which file you're wanting, I'd be happy to download it with my account and upload it for you somewhere else and link it here. Let me know if you have a preferred place for me to upload it (or, if not, if there's anywhere you definitely don't want to download it from - I'm guessing no Google, haha!)

Edit: Here is a link to screenshot of the files list in case you can't see it without an account

  • This was a great article, thank you for sharing it with us here, Alyaza!

I especially appreciated this bit at the ending:

Why do people still feel compelled to argue about the Everest 1996 tragedy nearly 30 years after the event? Because, as Krakauer writes, this disaster was “the result of multiple, complex, interrelated factors,” and because many key facts can never be established, as the witnesses to them died on the mountain. At our worst, human beings rebel against such situations. We want to believe that clear-cut blame can be determined because it brings the terrifying forces that sometimes crush us under our control. Also, as the internet demonstrates over and over again, we just love picking a villain, then doubling down on the choice until we’ve transformed them into an absurd caricature of wickedness. Whatever need this impulse serves, it’s never a desire to know the truth.

This way of thinking/behaving that humans so often do has long super bothered me. They cope with complicated situations by coming up with their own version of 'reality' that's simpler for them, that they could have had some control over, rather than accepting the unfair clusterfuck that is life. I have family members who are very prone to this and it weighs heavily on me...and makes me so sad.

  • Thank you for sharing this with us here. It was installed on my phone, too; I had no idea until I checked for it due to this article. I'll have to let my mom know, too. I appreciate ya!

I'm sort of surprised it was installed on such an old, cheap phone on an older version of Android that hasn't gotten updates in years. I don't usually get any kind of updates like this (to my knowledge.) Bleh. I wish I had the resources to just use GrapheneOS or similar!

  • That's understandable. There are a whole lot of little tricks and workarounds you've gotta constantly keep in your head and recall on the spot to try and navigate the crap that is the modern Internet. In addition to all the other life stuff we've gotta remember!

  • I'm not the person you were saying this to, but thank you for this! I'm a super-noob, sort of learning as I go by trying different things as I make my cat a webpage for shits and giggles, and you gave me some helpful stuff to try and look into. I appreciate it! :)

  • What a fun way to find out my bladder capacity is around three times the average at least. Connective tissue disorders are whack. Now I've just gotta work on the other factors so I can piss-levitate longer than everyone else! I'll be unstoppable!!
