  • It likely will not be life but it is an indefinite severance until doctors believe he no longer is in danger of reoffending. This is actually pretty common in many countries in cases that are deemed to be do to insanity. Sometimes when medicated they can be out in a few years. Other times they may in institutionalized for life. It is not about punishment but about trying to rehabilitate and focusing on the right treatment till they think he is safe to be back in society.

    Shit title for this article.

  • Just because you have some notion of what defines a child does not mean the rest of the world abides by that. Hamas will recruit kids as young as 14. Even in the US if someone under 18 commits a heinous crime, they are often tried as adults.

  • If my neighbor killed someone then started a fight, if I had the power to remove them and then didn't, I would expect I might be hurt from collateral damage.

It would be more akin to Canada sending missiles into the US approved by the government and as a Canadian not expecting that the US would respond back.

  • Yes. Often there are unintended results. I think another issue is that many people would have difficulty understanding the math behind it. It is not complex but it doesn't end up with concise results sometimes and distrust in the system can certainly jilt some people as we have witnessed enough.

  • I am on the fence on this one. Personally I don't think he should be charged as he was somewhat discriminating. That being said, people more support him because he published stuff that made the US look bad.

But to put this different. If all our personal health records were stolen, would people be fine if Fox or CNN were given a copy and they published it? Likely not.

Lastly he really is a guy that is hard to like. But that shouldn't factor.

  • A large portion of fighter pilots don't actually fly a mission or a mission that involves weapons activation. That doesn't make them any less of a fighter pilot. Most of the time they are training or just protecting assets.

But if you want to walk up to these guys and suggest they are not a fighter pilot cause they didn't kill anyone yet then go ahead.

  • Your contact is to pay for the power they provide. It is a regulated field so if something fails, then it is up to the regulators to cover the costs of they want more redundancy but 100 percent guarantees are not possible. Solar doesn't provide all days and wind can be gone for weeks. Do you think you should be able to sue them for that?

  • I will go against everyone here. You should buy a drink. Is polite. And it may make your friends bit uncomfortable.

That being said, while it is not a public place, not sure why they would care much considering others are purchasing something. Maybe your group should locate other location.

  • Do you see excess stock? Profits are not particularly high after the two years of costs that COVID created. Trillions of dollars were printed during COVID while people were not working and products were not being manufactured/farmed/repaired/....

There simply was/is more money floating around then stuff being produced. Unless God herself comes down and drops food/shelter/iPods from heaven, costs won't come down. Failing that, it is up to us to produce these products otherwise nothing will change.
