Did it actually radicalize, or just take the mask off?
When a community allows you to feel comfortable "taking the mask off" and embracing your inner bigot that is radicalization. So yes, The_Donald did radicalize people. Your comment is an attempt to highlight a distinction without a functional difference.
Yeah, I've always described r/Conservative as The_Donald dressed up in their dad's suit and tie. But once The_Donald was finally banned (after they already left for their own website - thanks for nothing spez) r/Conservative dropped all pretenses.
Yeah I wanted to love mlmym but it's just too buggy and laggy for me. Hopefully lemmy-ui-next will prove to be a good replacement. If anyone's curious, that UI can previewed at: next.lemm.ee
I use Alexandrite on desktop but I'm excited about Lemmy-UI-Next which (IIRC) is being developed by one of admins of lemm.ee. It looks very promising.
For mobile I'm using Voyager (this account is actually on the instance for supporters.) I've tried everything available for iOS but Voyager is my daily driver, nothing else comes close to ticking as many boxes as Voyager does for me. I have Apollo sideloaded on my phone and it's incredible how much progress Voyager has made toward replicating the experience which is exactly what I want in a mobile app for Lemmy. The only thing it's missing is my favorite Apollo theme (Outrun).
I would LOVE to be wrong, but sometimes that how the human scientific process works. We make a prediction THEN look at the evidence to see if we were right
A baseless prediction is of no value whatsoever. A theory with no evidence to support your claims is not worth anyone's time or consideration. But please, continue lecturing us about the scientific method.
Yeah, it's messed up that nearly everyone from the US would read that headline and make the same assumption without batting an eye because we've been conditioned to expect nothing else from police. It sure would be nice if we lived in a country where policing was actually a civil service and not a damn street gang.
lmao I'm always glad when I stumble upon a comment section like this where someone makes it abundantly clear that blocking them will be of no consequence whatsoever because they have absolutely no intention of approaching any discussion in good faith. It saves us all a little hassle, so thanks!
"You had very fine people on both sides" - Donald Trump, after neo-Nazis marched through the streets of Charlottesville shouting "Jews will not replace us" while one of their own ran over counter-protesters with his car in August of 2017. Full transcript via Politico
You can remove a user/comm/instance from your list by going to Settings > Filters & Blocks and swiping left on the item you want to remove then tap Unblock when the option appears on the right.
