This is why it’s been so frustrating to watch these traitors consistently being given a slap on the wrist for trying to violently overturn the election.
This only emboldened them. They have no remorse for their crimes and all they’ve learned is that they will not face any meaningful consequences if/when they try again.
It’s been invite-only for all five and a half years I’ve been there so I wouldn’t expect that to ever change. Fortunately it’s really easy to get an invite code. Just post in the official subreddit and the mods or another user will give you a code. It’s just enough of a minor roadblock that it helps filter out bad actors.
Personally I prefer Lemmy. But if you’re like OP and looking for conversation focused alternatives tildes is worth joining.
"Down where the Sasquatch hide
In the misty mountainside
He's got shiny diamonds that he's got to protect
Look into the Sasquatch eye
Then you'll know that sass can fly
Sasquatch is my daddy and he's going to protect me!"

While this study is interesting it isn't that surprising. It's been the most plausible explanation for Bigfoot sightings for decades. A bear standing on it's hind legs does look fairly humanoid. Compound that with the likelihood that the animal is being obscured by foliage and the fact that the average person is terrible at accurately estimating size from a distance and it all makes sense.
It's for the best anyway. It's better for the health of the fediverse when communities are spread out across a wide array of instances. The consolidation of communities on lemmy.world is not ideal. Good luck with the community!
!calvinandhobbes@lemmy.world. While there's not much conversation going on there it's still nice to jump on lemmy and see a Calvin and Hobbes comic every day in my feed. The mod is currently posting C&H's from 1987.
The bill also gives people the ability to justify use of “defensive force” upon an unhoused person in instances of criminal trespass, including “unlawful camping” on the owner’s property. This would allow property owners to use deadly force against unhoused people on their property without facing criminal consequences.
Sounds like Kyle Rittenhouse is gonna get his mom to drive him to Kentucky. Seriously though, this is fucking disgusting legislation. Homeless people are dehumanized enough but Kentucky is on the verge of legalizing hunting them for sport. What vile pieces of shit those 45 Republican co-sponsors are.
“Last night, Trump is at a rally and he’s going on and on mentioning me several times as to why I didn’t take security during the Capitol riots. Why I didn’t handle January 6 better. I wasn’t even in DC on January 6. I wasn’t in office then,” Haley said.
“They’re saying he got confused. That he was talking about something else. That he was talking about Nancy Pelosi. He mentioned me multiples times in that scenario,” the former South Carolina governor added.
The closer we get to the election the more apparent it is that the stress of his mounting legal troubles has taken a considerable toll on him. He was mentally unfit for office in 2016 and 2020 too but the difference today is staggering. What she’s referring to was not a minor slip or getting tongue-tied.
There’s no way on earth he’ll debate Biden in the fall if he gets the nomination. He simply is not capable of doing so. This demented piece of shit doesn’t know where he is or who he’s running against. Reporters need to be asking him where he is during every single public appearance between now and the election. I have no doubt the failure rate would be near 100%.
Yes, cutting the CEO's pay won't prevent layoffs. Excellent work, detective. That was definitely the aim of my comment and not a simple matter of principle.
“We have ambitious goals and will be investing in our big priorities this year,” Pichai told all Google employees on Wednesday in an internal memo that was shared with me. “The reality is that to create the capacity for this investment, we have to make tough choices.”
Surely Alphabet will make the tough choice to cut CEO pay, right? lololololol I crack myself up sometimes...
Yep, it's a terrible argument but it's the only one they've got. They can't admit the easier it is to cancel service the more customers they'll lose. Nor can they say that the cable industry has spent a fortune researching how to make canceling service just frustrating enough that people will put it off long enough for the urge to eventually pass. And believe it or not, exploiting people's laziness has been a surprisingly effective customer retention strategy for decades.
…And the enshittification era of streaming services continues unabated.
