  • Lubbock County, Texas, joins a group of other rural Texas counties that have voted to ban women from using their roads to seek abortions.

We're about at the point where people are going to have to start setting up a modern underground railroad to help women and their families escape that oppressive shithole and set up lives where they're free.

  • It's pretty clear in the article that she's not talking about cashing in politically via a role as a Fox News contributor or hitting up the right wing lecture circuit to criticize Democrats for the rest of her life. She specifically talked about using her Senate experience and Washington connections to land a cushy private sector job on a corporate board or to become a University president. Both of which pay substantially higher than the salary of a US Senator and are pretty well worn paths for ex-Senators. She could not care less about staying relevant publicly. She's already got what she wanted out of her time in the Senate.

  • Yep, but jeez, Magazine is a pretty terrible name for what it's attempting to describe... Don't get me wrong, they can call their communities whatever the hell they want but it feels like they're bending over backwards to avoid saying 'community' only to settle on a name that doesn't even make sense. Magazines are something meant to be consumed, they’re a one way street. Communities on the other hand are a place where you're ideally both reading and contributing. Lemmy/kbin doesn't work without active users contributing content and joining discussions. At least reddit's jargon had some logic to it reddit -> subreddit aka sub-community on reddit.

  • I wonder how many Fox News viewers graduated from high school. 🤔

  • Nah, they're just a downvote troll. Look at their history. Account created yesterday and already at -522 comment karma. This is why reddit ended up capping downvotes at -100 because idiots like that person used to love to make a game out of seeing who could get the most downvotes.

  • Other clips from the rally went viral as well, including Trump saying, “I’m for us. You know how you spell us, right? U.S. I just picked that up. Has anyone ever thought of that before?”

I hate this timeline so much.

  • Nice! I'll usually make a couple batches of my favorite soups in the fall and freeze indvidual potions to eat throughout the winter. Nothing beats a freezer full of homemade soups.

  • Yep, this news actually broke a couple days ago, I remember seeing a Brave fanboy having a meltdown over it and ranting about how Mozilla is the real shady company, blah, blah, blah.

  • This is unacceptable and downright disgusting. There is no excuse for anyone in the United States to be homeless much less people with full time employment.

  • Yes but you must not hands

  • Between a decade+ on reddit and now here on lemmy I've learned most of the time when someone's whining about a headline or insinuating that the media is purposefully misleading they're just upset that headlines don't contain the entire article. Which is obviously a very stupid criticism. It's surprisingly common but it's stupid all the same.

  • There is nothing factually incorrect or even remotely misleading about the headline as written.
